It's sad how atheists try to rationalize the concept that something came out of nothing.

"a sea of random spontaneous energy"

"the laws didn't exist before matter so we can ignore these laws"

"There are infinite possibilites that could have created these laws"

"There's a balance between matter and anti-matter so a universe could pop up anywhere anytime"

"there could be an infinite amount of universes which makes it plausible for our particular universe to come into being"

The difference between atheists and theists is atheists don't necessarily believe in any one theory. They consider all of them. Theists on the other hand stick to one specific theory (which is just as crazy as the others) without giving consideration to anything else.

Yes but there is only one truth so only one theory must be true.

I think you Jay have a theistic mind, just a matter of time til u become a Christian.

LOL, that's crazy son! I've never heard anyone say that to me before. I think you Slime have a strange mind.

Maybe I do have a theistic mind (whatever that means). If I did choose a religion, why would I choose Christianity? I think I'd be more of a Budhist type of guy.

Nothingness means no possibilities .

Read Soleron's first post. You will understand that the problem is your definition of "nothingness".

His definition is no more viable than the one presented against it. Both come from the relm of metaphysics and as such, are nothing more than based around a human "logical" way of seeing and presenting things.

Reading through this thread, it took less than a page for it to turn into a religious slap fight. Nice.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Theistic mind, mainly it means that a person has the thirst for eternal life and a hope for life after death. But it also has do to do with certain ethics.

Most non-believers are attracted to Buddhism, but many end up becoming Christans because the J-guy is calling them. You don't choose Christianity. Christianity chooses you.

The membrane's collision was the big bang.

Which comes to "What created the membranes?"  Which needs some kind of "poof" start two membranes.

Why does it have to be created.  It can be something that has and always has been. We assume because we have a beginning and a end that everything else does.

This would also attach to god, he would have to be created as well.

Actually people are leaving religions and church's in droves and it is more likely for you become a athiest then become christian. Lets also not forget christanity lacks logic and only people who's insecurity about the afterlife out weighs there sense of logic.
Did you know that The 25th of december is actually a pagan holiday and the bible never even mentions it to be celebrated. The 25th is actually the "birth day" of the sun- god, "Sol Invictus" or "Mithras"? Did you know December 25 was the concluding day of the pagan winter festival called the "Saturnalia"?

The christmas tree is also pagan along with celebrating birthday's, Which christians didn't...
celebrate christs birthday at first because it being a pagan idea. Lets also not forget that jesus birthday is really not known. So when people ask why I celebrate christmas while not be christian. I say, why do you? Your not Pagan.

The very name "Christmas," combining the name of Christ with the pagan mass

Those questions from Jay is how I started to believe in God. Then I started asking myself which God do I follow? Islam? Jews? Christians? etc. etc. That's a WHOLE OTHER course.

It took me 1 month to make my decision. I then became a Christian. I want to add something CRITICAL. What change my life WAS NOT RELIGION it was Jesus. That's a BIG difference.

I already took Sociology, Astronomy, Philosophy, Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Family counseling at my university etc.. etc...

I earned my B.S in Integration to Psychology & Theology (Bible)

Exactly, it doesn't. And a true "beginning" would defy our Laws of conservation of energy/matter anyway. So it's nonsensical to even suggest "there must be a beginning."

I like my poof idea.
