Which comes to "What created the membranes?"  Which needs some kind of "poof" start two membranes.

 Why does it have to be created.  It can be something that has and always has been. We assume because we have a beginning and a end that everything else does.

Exactly, it doesn't. And a true "beginning" would defy our Laws of conservation of energy/matter anyway. So it's nonsensical to even suggest "there must be a beginning."
