#39 - Bioshock, a very eerie first person shooter with an equally unique style. The game can even be scary at some points, in the dark hallways and subtle sounds effects. Not to mention the voice in the air. The scenenery of the underwater city is stunning all around. It has a good story too, and even allows you to have alternate endings. The sequel is just as great, but I have to pick one.
#38 - ?
This game appears on a console of which it's brand has not yet been featured in my previous entries. Often hailed as the system's de-facto mascot up until this last game for this system. The main character features a signature move very much a certain carToon character.
39. Xenoblade Chronicles, Wii (2012) Nintendo/Monolith Soft (new)
The second of the Project Rainfall games on my list (they really were worth bringing to America, Reggie!), this one was just absolutely packed with stuff to do: a hundred-hour story, with much more if you choose to do the many sidequests. The battle system was fairly simple in an MMO-style, but could also be very deep as you built on three-character combinations of the players. The story had a fair bit of the JRPG tendency to go a little too far over-the-top, but the characters themselves were great, really solid and memorable. The only reason this game didn't make it higher is because, arguably, it is so long as to almost discourage replayability, but in today's age of super-short single player modes, that is not the worst complaint you could lob at a game.
38 hint: This game, made by "5" covered numbers 4, 5, and 6 of this iconic franchise in another medium, as well as some of the events that took place in between.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

*sniff sniff* Smells like... Dragon Age: Origins. |
You smell correctly.
I actually really enjoyed ME3 (GoTY so far) so I have quite high hopes for DA3.
My 38th game was supposed to rejuvenate a stagnate but still popular series but ended up not being as amazing as I expected, but was still a great game and better than most of the games before it in the series.
So 39 is New Super Mario Bros. 2. A good game, yes. But the added mechanic did nothing for me and I would have liked a little more variety in stage design...
38 is an early Wii title involving schoolgirls, grannies, footballers and rockstars as your enemies.

No More Heroes.
Did No More Heroes have a footballer in it? NMH2 did (handegg, anyway) but now i'm trying to think
Death Metal, Doctor Peace, Shinobu, Destroyman, Holly Summers, Letz Shake, Harvey Moisevitch Volodarskii, Speed Buster, Bad Girl, and ______ (knowing you and how you hate your spoilers)
None of them played either kind of football, iirc. Bad Girl was just mean with her bat and her alcoholism.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
my 39 The Beatles : Rock Band (Xbox 360)
Now I love a the guitar hero / Rock band series's and have almost all of them complete for the most part but the beatles game was one of the only games in the genre to actually do a little bit more than have semi familiar looking character models swaying back and forth in the background whilst you Red,yellow, green and blue'd your way through some of the bands more known songs. The dreamscapes that were made for some of the songs are really amazing and as a fan of the beatles some of them are just magnificent imaginings of what couldn't be created back in the 60s even just how a song can start out with them recording at abbey road and break into really beautiful fields singing together. Amazing, and so much more than just another "tap along to the song" rhythm game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zNtsZPiVpA one of abbey roads - Dear Prudence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Yij10RbuI Sgt Peppers Lonely hearts/Lil help from my friends such a great vision of what was going on in the beatles heads and those of their fans.
My 40 Beautiful Katamari (Xbox 360)
If you've not experienced the magic of rolling up dominos, then the domino board.... then a near string of mice, then some cats, books, tv's, cars, houses..... THE WORLD, well it's one of those love it or hate it games I would think as some of my friends just plain don't get it. Absolutely great way to waste time tho + some fairly messed up humour.
hint for my 38 - it envolves killing more pigs than all the gta series combined.
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
