Forums - Nintendo - EA sent ME3 on Wii U to die.

self-moderated my own hate post against BioWare. My rage for the cheap-ass combat in KOTOR is no excuse.

Owned!

Since I know EA won't go announcing "we're changing ME3 into the bundle version for the Wii U!" I can only hope that... that.. er.. that after this game fails, they don't use it as an excuse to give lackluster support in the future.

I feel as though it is inevitable, though. I don't see the Wii U getting good third party support. There is more fanboyism and blindness in this industry than you guys would assume.

It's obvious, EA sent ME3 on Wii U only to fail. How can EA seriously think ANYONE would buy this when they are launching ME trilogy for the same price mere days before. I already thought it was weird that EA could expect that anyone would buy this because playing the previous games is so important to the experience, but now it's clear that they are not expecting anything.

They will watch it fail and use that argument to claim that supporting the system is not worth it! Remember when EA's ceo kept saying good thing about the wii u? What happened since then? Did Nintendo pee in their cherios? If they were serious about givng the system a chance, they would have made a port for Dead Space 3, Medal of Honor or Need for Speed.

Mass Effect 3 is one of the top RPGs this generation (stuff it those who want to argue that it isn't).  If the port wasn't difficult, and Nintendo decided to maybe give them some money for the efforts, then why not?  At launch, it is like the only RPG on the new platform, so it stands out.  Doing a trilogy would of made much more sense.

Need for Speed would of been a good addition althought, as I don't believe the WiiU has a driving game in its launch window.

ME3 has been pushed back from the Wii U launch for a reason.

I'm not saying we're definitely getting the trilogy on it.

I'm saying it's not off the table.

Yes it is. Microsoft holds the writes to the first one. The most the Wii U will see is 2 and 3.

It appears that EA now has rights to the console version, though they've had rights to the PC version for some years.

Who is going to buy the trilogy?

After all, the games have been out for a while. And is it worth $60 to play the first game on PS3?

Is that not the same argument being used against ME3 on the Wii?

That is what makes ports just a risky proposition when they are not close in time.

Personally, I have no interest in ME3. I just want the NFS to come out on WiiU.

I will, seeing as I never owned the original or ME3 AND you dont have to buy the trilogy for PS3 just to play part 1, the game will be available as a standalone on PSN FYI. Its not the same argument at all, your comparing a collection to one single game, a single game that is being sold at full price at that.

I want to buy it but I'd prefer to buy it on wii u...ive been putting off getting ME2 for PS3 for like, two years now. I can wait another year or three to see if it ever makes it to Wii U.

But I seriously doubt it ever will. ME3 will sell for sh*t and EA will take this as an excuse to not port the trilogy or most of it's games to Wii U.

I bet they'll port the trilogy to WiiU, but only after everyone buys ME3 first.

This.  But even if it doesn't, I hope ME3 won't die THAT easily.

Oh my gosh people here are stupid. Do you think EA is really devoting time, money, and manpower to porting a game that they want to fail? Why in the world would they do that? They definitely don't like losing money.

The Mass Effect Trilogy that's coming out could very well be a decision that was made AFTER Mass Effect 3 Wii U began. We don't have a solid release date for the PS3 version of Mass Effect, so it's quite possible work on that port started recently, after licensing issues were resolved with Microsoft.

EA is porting Mass Effect to the Wii U, because they want to make it a juggernaut franchise, and they need it to be as visible as possible to as many audiences as possible. They're hoping that gamers who don't own a 360 or a PS3 have heard of the franchise and will buy it for the Wii U. It's as simple as that.

Is Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U a poor and misguided idea? Yes. Is this an intentional plan by EA to waste their time, money, and resources? No, that would be stupid. Is it an effort to not develop on the Wii U? No, EA isn't going to turn down a potential revenue source, and if they don't think the Wii U is viable, they could simply not develop for it. No zany scheme is required.

Sometimes a stupid move is just a stupid move with no wacky explanation behind it. Use your heads people.

I DO see this whole thing is a case of poor judgment than deliberate sabotage.  Even with these conspiracy rumors, I still choose not to buy any of them because they sound too hateful and written out of spite to be true.
