EA isn't even trying with the ME3 port. They've got an outside studio on the job in the first place.

No surprise tbh. Even without the Trilogy being released on other platforms Mass Effect 3 won't sell a great deal. They're (incorrectly imo) assuming that 'hardcore' titles won't sell on the U.

I guarantee this though: When Ubisoft are busy counting heaps of cash from the good sales performances of ZombiU, Rayman Legends and Assassin's Creed 3 you're going to have EA executives kicking themselves that they didn't make more effort at launch.

Expect some last minute panicking ports of their big releases next year as a result of this.

A bit daft really tbh, any executive of any of the major publishers with any sort of sense should know that a Nintendo console launching with a 2D Mario game is going to fly off shelves all over the place, supporting such a console isn't that much of a gamble really as long as a title has a decent marketing campaign.

It will be a shock if they ever post a profit.  They've been losing money for so long.  I don't know how they are still in business or able to even buy / destroy more companies.  RIP Bullfrog and Westwood...

In terms of Wii owners, that won`t change anything for those who never played the game, but for those who are coming from Xbox 360 and PS3, it will mean less Wii U ME3 copies sold as they can play 3 games instead of just one, even if that one was a special version.

I think EA could have done a better job with porting the series to Wii U.
It would be troublesome to have three games ported to Wii U, but most of the trouble seems, to me at least, to be about the controller adaptation. A port for ME3 is already on it`s way, someone is already porting the first one to PS3 - and a Wii U version could have been done at the same time.

The Wii U trilogy could have waited a bit longer to get released but putting out a trilogy for your average price on a console that is building a fanbase and probably with a lot of people who never touched the series, would be a good incentive to make people buy the game.

Personally i`m still thinking seriously about buying the game, but with 3 games for the price of one, who could resist?

The reason, imo, is that they would have to create new code for the Wii U game (gamepad gameplay, inventory, map, those things).

I think that's more expensive and laborious than porting old code to a new system. Especially for a game that wouldn't sell well no matter what they do.

Crazy as it sounds, the "vendetta against Nintendo" conspiracy makes more sense than stupidity.

I admit it would take time, but couldn`t they adopt what is buying done with ME3 for Wii U and apply it for the other versions? Would save time.
I know it would mean a bigger investment but it could end up being an offer hard to pass up, specially around Christmas.
