ME3 has been pushed back from the Wii U launch for a reason.

I'm not saying we're definitely getting the trilogy on it.

I'm saying it's not off the table.

MGS3DS was pushed back as well, for no identifiable reason at all.

It was: poor 3DS sales. I don't have a link, but I remember being this the official version.

OT: Honestly, this is what I was expecting since the begining for Wii U. Looks like this is MGS3D all over again.

That's not how business works. EA is doing whatever they think will result in the highest amount of profit, just like every other company. (And releasing a game that they expect will sell poorly just to justify not releasing more games that they expect will sell poorly makes no sense at all. They would rather release nothing in that case.) They could have chosen not to release the game at all, and no one would give a shit since the game has been out for a while. But they expect good things to come out of this.

...Either that or Nintendo paid them to release the game.

True true true. EA is a money driven company and it is very unlikely they are trying to kill the wii u considering it would cost them millions in potential profits.

It's either a machiavellian scheme or myopic shortsightedness. I wouldn't take either off the table.

But yes, with the prospect of either getting the whole trilogy on another platform or seeing a later trilogy release on Wii U, you'd have to be a pretty ignorant consumer to buy ME 3 on Wii U. I might have bought the game before, now I'll wait for the trilogy release or buy it for a song a year later.

Didn't they have issues with nintendo already? when they (nintendo) rejected to build Wii U's online around Origin?

Was it ever supposed to succeed anyway?

Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U is aimed at the Nintendo-only audience and the trilogy coming out on 360/PS3/PC doesn't change anything.

Indeed, but some people may hold until they announce the trilogy for WiiU, and those 'lost sales' could mean no trilogy for WiiU. Heck instead of ME3, they should've released the trilogy, is not that the game is new and the didn't had time to port it.

That's the back story. The question is whether it's true, or true enough to justify shooting their own products in the foot.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Seriously? People really think a multi-billion dollar business would throw away money on some kind of personal vendetta? If they're doing something, then they have financially motivated reasons. They might be wrong, but they're still operating with profit in mind.

What we're probably seeing here is an attempt to squeeze out a bit more from ME3 at full price as a stand alone title. That's how EA normally works. No big deal, just don't buy it if you're waiting for the trilogy. It's not like the Nintendo universe is the only one to go through this, look how long PS3 owners had to wait to get access to ME2 and ME1.

The idea that EA is trying to doom the Wii U, a new revenue stream, is just unrealistic.

I was never sure if i should buy Me3 for wiiu or not  I mean its not the best game of the trilogy  and i was sceptical how ea would fuck up the wiiu version after nintend dropped ea's origin (rumor)

but now they def lost a sale. There is no way i would pay 60 for a 1year old game when there is the whole trilogy coming to other systems

They could be saying ''well we did just fine w/o nintendo so...'' of course, that's not the logic reasoning business wise but... well it's EA

Wasn't the latest Need for Speed coming to the Wii U ?
