Someone creates a thread, Seece in this case, with a list of games that he wants people to vote down or up. Another user (tbone) comes into thread and says OP has to correct a perceived (by tbone) mistake, OP answers that one game from that franchise is enough and it is quite clear that SSB Wii U is what the OP aims for, the absolute lack of handheld titles in the list should also be a dead give-away. OP repeats several times that the title stays, the other user somehow takes this personally and keeps pushing the same point acrosssix different posts. OP tells him to lay off and that he will report him if the keeps it up, said user is warned via PM but chooses to write a childish and antagonizing post on the OP's wall and is subsequently banned for 3 measly days.

In summary; Seece makes a perfectly good thread with no ill intentions, tbone comes to tell OP how his post should be phrased, Seece refuses and tells him to lay off the whole subject of an edit. tbone keeps pushing, ignoring both the initial plea of the OP and a warning from a mod, gets banned and another user serves up the following nugget on tbone's wall; "If Seece didn't make it a habit to harass Nintendo fans maybe this ban wouldn't have happened in the first place?" The thread in question has to be really wrought out of shape to be perceived as harassment of any kind of Nintendo fans, including tbone.

I really, really, really don't see the issue here. You've brought up other issues that are real and important but this is a petty trifle if I ever saw one. I strongly believe what I wrote earlier; that we shouldn't take into account the fact that users should be more thick-skinned, when we consider moderations, but in this case there was no attempt at riling anyone up.

The situation was poorly handled by the moderator. Here's an alternate way to look at it:

1) tbone wants the correct title of a game in the thread.
2) Seece doesn't want to edit for whatever reason.
3) starcraft is a moderator and can edit anyone's post. If the above is the problem, then it could have been solved easily. tbone gets his edit, Seece doesn't have to do it, and the mod doesn't have to moderate which he apparently loathes so much.

Seece's post above yours also shows what kind of person he is. No restraints in dishing out, but can't take it. Also, the claim that Seece harasses Nintendo fans can be backed up by Seece's posting history (look through the threads he created this year, it's an option that is available in the posting history). While individual threads are innocent on the surface, it doesn't take much to recognize a pattern. It peaked with Seece spinning off Nintendo's most recent financial report into five threads that were created within a couple of hours. One thread of note is the speculated 2015 release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U; Seece goes to great lengths to make it look like a likely 2015 release and when he gets called out for his faulty logic, he is quick to attack other users and threaten with reports.

"The thread in question has to be really wrought out of shape to be perceived as harassment of any kind of Nintendo fans, including tbone."

Did you miss that part that I wrote? Regardless of post history, we are talking about a specific thread here and a specific case and resulting ban.

As for the numeric list;

1: And the OP says that it doesn't need to be specified, I kind of doubt that tbone and perhaps yourself would have made any kind of big deal out of this if it were Metal Gear Solid V in question, which will have the Phantom Pain release as well as a mainline release. I can understand that some would be bothered by it for whatever reason but I still don't believe that we should automatically jump in and change OP's or other posts at the behest of dissatisfied users.

2: And that's his prerogative in this case, he didn't think it was a big deal, the reason he edited MK was that there simply is no such thing as MK10. If someone came into this thread; http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=183315&page=-1#1 and told you to promptly change parts such as "People like me who were always aware that the Wii U is a piece of trash" or "Troublemakers like noname2200 who love to troll and always get away with it"? Or someone reported this thread; http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=183130&page=-1#1 ? Just because you're "always joking", that doesn't make it okay (imo).

3: Like I said; we should edit other people's posts every time a user is unhappy with something? I think most mods agree with me that this case wasn't a big deal, as evidenced by the fact that it still hasn't been edited by any of the 15 mods in site and tbone's ban has not been overturned or questioned by other mods.

How many "joke" threads have you made over the past 7 years that baited users into anger and resulted in bans? I can hardly count them, getting "Rol'ed" is an actual expression on this site, which is part of the reason why I think it's peculiar at best that you, out of everyone, is taking this particular case so far and critiquing other people's post history and ability to rile other people up. I am not defending every thread Seece makes, I have no intention of that, but I have been discussing this particular thread in question as it was the case you brought up.

Thanks Mummel, glad to see another mod agreeing with me. I'll tell you what the issue is. A select few Nintendo fans do not like my on topic Nintendo sales threads, thus they think this gives them a right to shit my threads up because I've antagonised them? It's weak.

Rol is another one it seems, can't believe I thought he would have made a good mod ;p

It's beneficial for me that you decided to chime in, because it makes things easier for me.

The bolded is a problem. You are exploiting the rules to hide behind them. All mods should be aware of that.

In case Seece wasn' blatant enough in recent weeks, here is an older one.

The moderation team has signaled that Seece's days of immunity are a thing of the past now and this community will be better off for it.

Seece doesnt have any immunity. He has had 6 moderations since December.

Then it was seemingly immunity for baiting efforts.

Also, I don't recall him being banned at any time this year.

He did get banned once this year for baiting Zero if I am not mistaken!

Ban for this post, and warnings for others for different matters.

It should be noted that me and Mr Khan both banned him today for different posts within about 90 seconds of eachother. Because the bans were so similar, we have decided to keep his ban to 1 day and mark down both occasions for any potential future moderations to take note of.

Nobody has mod protection anymore, because nobody has any vg$.

I just saw that Seece also got moderated for baiting tbone, not only for a post in this thread. tbone's ban may be upheld, but that's something I can live with. The moderation team has signaled that Seece's days of immunity are a thing of the past now and this community will be better off for it.

Indubitably. Now there's only one user with mod immunity left..you
