We all love rumours right? Well, we’ve got a good one for you today…

Speaking to a friend of the site who works in the industry, (we can’t disclose who) we might have just discovered a third-party offering coming to the Wii U. Yes, apparently a new Trauma Centre game is in development for the console.

According to our source the game will “use the GamePad in exciting ways”, offering “new styles of play that are quite odd”. They added the game is expected to launch on the Wii U in 2013. (Will Europe ever see it though, Trauma Team anyone?)

Does this come as much of a surprise though? Trauma Center: Second Opinion was a strong third-party game for the Wii, even if it was a remake of the DS classic. Furthermore, the Wii U GamePad seems almost perfect for this type of game – ultrasound is a no-brainer…

Fingers crossed for this one.

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

I asked my dog, and he confirmed it.

Really it's a no brainer, but the article does bring a good issue: Will it come to Europe? Nintendo (publisher of the games in Europe) washed their hands of the latest DS/Wii title.

Played it once on the Wii.

There wasn't a single bitch in the game wanting a boob lift and silicone implants.

The game sucks.

I will gladly buy it, if it comes to Europe. I fail to see benefits in the Upad though. The pointer controls of the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo were the perfect fit for this series.

If they use the controllers' screen as the patient with the TV displaying the vital signs (like in reality)/ objectives / other things, we could use the stylus as the medical tools, which could work well.

Please excuse my bad English.

Don't you know Trauma center: Plastic surgery edition?

They could always (technically) use the wiimote and Gamepad simultaneously, gamepad as a screen with info (like in real life) and the wiimote as the tools

That's what I'm envisioning, too.  Keep the fantastic pointer controls from the Wii games, but put all the distracting elements  (like timers and pictures of the tools) on the touchscreen (optionally).

What I'd also love to see, though, is use of the GamePad for more specialized tools.  Like holding it up and pointing at the screen to give someone an X-Ray.

I'd buy this instantly, by the way.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
