the games provided by psn+ have never been marketed at free-to-play.  but when sony does have a free-to-play game like dust 541 or treasure of montezuma blitz ... they are indeed actually free to play.

But aren't those games advertised as free? Technically they aren't free since you have to keep paying for PS+ to keep the games.

As a guy who prefers Sony/Nintendo over xbox brand i would hate to see that happen, there was very little MS representation before but now it seems almost nonexsistent, hell i think there are more PC fans

Whoa.  Where is this coming from?  

I personally don't know why we have a dwindling MS community (Seece leaving?), but I really don't think that it has anything to do with the moderation.  I am fairly new on the job so what do I know? 

 

OT  I have to say that I actually can understand why people are kind of chuckling at the "free games" that you need a Gold subscription for.  They really aren't free, but neither is PSN+.

I totally agree that the PSN+ "free" games are in fact not free to play...

...but Dust 514 and DC Universe Online are completey 100% free to play with no PSN+ required

 

OT: I kind of covered it in my above statement, but its not quite free to play if there is a subscription involved.  Do you think they will eventually truly embrace f2p and let silver accounts download?

i would add Motorstorm RC to that list (not sure if the PS3 version if free or just the Vita version) and hell no to them adopting free to play on silver accounts, can you even access stuff like Netflix on that?

The turth is, this is NOT f2p. When you have to pay to play online, in no way it is considered f2p. Nobody attacked MS for giving free games to Gold subscribers, the issue is that they try to market something as free to every Xbox owner, when its actually only available to half its users. Its more a spin, then a lie,. but never the less its not what they consider it to be

Considering the price of Xbox live, this should have been the case from launch. Quality free to play arcade game for Gold members, but instead we get Dash of Destruction courtesy of Doritos. Utter fail.
