Phenom. Youre lost. Its time for you to convince me that the PS2 wasnt for everyone. At the same time, you can try to convince me that the Wii is for everyone.

Instead of trying (and failing) to argue against other people, its time for you to put your point forward in a way other than "Because I said so!".

Why not just leave if you are going to just ignore what i put in the OP? I said point out one legit casual game that did well on PS2. Are you trying to convince me the same people that bought Wii Fit and Just Dance are the gamers that owned GT, Madden, GH lol. Like i said you have no proof what so ever. The PS2 has no high selling casual game because it had a tiny casual userbase if one existed at all. Thats my proof, now its your turn.

Somewhere in this thread, the OP called me butthurt over the PS2. The thing is, Nintendo is my absolute favorite gaming company and Sony is my least favorite. Unlike the OP, I'm able to love a developer and still acknowledge when the commpetition does ssomething well and when my company of choice does something wrong.

This is the internet buddy, i could make things up to.

What did I make up?

Claiming Ninty is your absolute favorite gaming company. Here ill give it a go. Sony is my absolute favorite gaming company and i absolutely loved the PS2. See I can do it too. :)

According to Wiki the PS2 has 2016 games. Im pretty sure in this list there is a game for everybody

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_games

For reference here is a list of Wii's games (keep in mind its updated as more come out...)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_games

Is it really so hard to believe the PS2 didnt have a casual userbase? Having a game for everyone doesnt mean it attracted everyone. Kinda like the Wii having core games but no much of a core base. Its funny really I constantly see HD gamers saying Wii core games are flops because they didnt do sell much compared to Sony or Microsoft's core games. Yet I point out the Wii's casual games mopped the floor with the PS2's casual games and Sony fans go ape shit lol.

Personally, I find that the difference between the PS2 and PS3 is the amount of RPG games there are. In comparison, the PS3 has drastically less than its predecessor which is unfortunately for my sister and I who enjoy playing RPGs. Since we don't have a lot of PS3 games to begin with, I often find myself going back to playing the old PS2 games and even some PS games on the PS2. The enhancements with the PS3 graphics and interface allows for those FPS games to thrive.

Are you trolling me in your own thread?

"Seems like everyday I see post saying the PS2 was for everyone and how all Ninty did was take the casual market from Sony. I have a question though, what proof do we have of how well the PS2 did with the casuals? I honestly dont it, the PS2's casual games did horrible (compared to the Wii's atleast) and hardcore games sold 10 times as much. Wii games have sold as much as CoD on both 360 and PS3 combined. What proof do we have of part of the PS2's base being casual when majority of its casual games did horrible?"

Dont accuse me of something you did. I am just sticking to your topic.

Except me and you weren't discussing my topic lol, we were discussing the Wii's third party support.

Um...You must've missed my initial response to you. It was about the demographics the PS2 covered which the Wii couldn't and also third parties. You're unwilling to accept the fact that the PS2 reached a broader audience. The Wii opened up more casuals to gaming with a novelty device that made games simpler than they already were. That made it easier for the whole family. This is a lost cause of a topic because you don't listen at all. You're too biased to ask for peoples opinions.

No, what you did was claim the PS2 sold to casuals because it sold so much, it selling so much isn't proof of it selling to casuals. Even here you completely showed your bias against the Wii. I dont care about how much you hate the Wii, I could careless about the PS2. What I asked for was proof of the PS2 selling to casuals, like actually name these high selling casual games. What every other Sony fan has done is name a bunch of games that aren't even sold to the expanded audience Ninty sold Wii Fit or Just Dance to. Why do we see no kind of high selling fitness, dancing, or singing games. Casual sports' games like Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort, not Madden or Fifa lol, those don't appeal to casuals lol. I'm not being bias, I just dont want all the double standards. Ninty fans name core games all the time that according to you guys underperformed compared to the Xbox 360 or PS3 counterparts, but when I point out the PS2's underperforming casual selling games underperforming compared to Wii casual titles you guys lose your mind.  Im asking for a high selling casual title that exactly is an expanded audience game. Not something that appeared on the PS1 and then the PS2 got because it was it's successor.

So Fifa doest appeal to casual? What about the soccor fans that couldnt care less about any game but like to play their team. Yes people do go out to buy a console to play just one type of game, they are the casuals.
Every year cod sells well while the hardcore whine about why a copy and paste game sells so much, well that is because casual people like to have a few rounds and wouldnt waste their time playing any other game. A casual gamers are people that game every now and then for fun. They dont take it seriously.

There isnt some rule that defines the casual crowd, Any nintendo fan that bought wii sports or just dance automatically becomes a casual gamer? Likewise any casual gamer that goes out and buys halo reach automaticaly becomes a hardcore gamer?

It doesnt NEED one game to do so many copies. It had HUNDREDS of other "casual" games that sold over a Million copies.

If youre so intent on pointing out the Wii has huge sellers for "casuals"... Point out to me 5 games that aren't "casual" on the Wii that sold over 5 Million copies.

The Dance Dance Revolution series sold over 11 Million units on PS2.

Singstar games sold over 16 Million units on PS2, with a lot of data missing for a lot of games. Probably closer to 20 Million units.

The EyeToy sold over 10 Million units.

There you go, phenom. "Casual" stuff sold on the PS2 :O
