Seems odd considering the Rayman Origins didn't do as well on Nintendo platforms.

I wonder if Nintendo wanted it as a timed exclusive.

Nintendo is not buying exsclusives. They have said this.

Crazy idea, maybe Ubisoft genuinely liked what the Wii U could do and decided to make it for it.

Versus their (and other third parties) obvious lack of interest in taking advantage of the PS3/Vita link up.

Ghetto Galmour did have one valid point before he got banned.  This is spamming.  I'm not moderating anyone, but I am going to let all of you guys know that this is unacceptable because it doesn't add at all to the discussion.

We all like the box-art, so it is kind of on-topic.

But, it's OK. I understand. It was just a joke type thing, though.

Didnt Ninty buy fatal frame? is that not farfetched that they moneyhatted, and yes it is a crazy idea that Ubi would be interested in making a game from a series that is NOT that popular to begin with and limit its audience to a system that hasnt even been released yet, actually its pretty stupid. Hope people do buy it.

Purchasing an actual entire game series and buying exsclusives are two different things.

They didn't make Fatal Frame exslusive. They acquired ownership and made it completely theirs. The same with  The Last Story and Pandora's Tower. Nintendo paid them to make it. That does not make it exslusive. It is Nintendo's game. It is theirs altogether. Iwata is the executive producer of both of those games.

Its just like how people were insistent that Nitendo had paid for Monster Hunter 4 to be exslusive when in reality, Sony had pissed off the devs and the decided to bring it to the 3DS on their own.

Nintendo has stated that if devs "approach them" with an exslusive deal then they will look into helping them out but they will not buy exslusivity the way Sony and Microsoft do.

Anyone who says Nintendo won't buy exclusives is living in dream land.

Nintendo has signed a £10 million contract to bring Doctor Who to Wii and DS consoles, according to tabloid reports.
The Sun says that the company plans to have the game, which will be based around Matt Smith's Doctor, in shops in time for Christmas 2010.
"This has been in the pipeline for years," an insider is quoted as saying. "We're delighted to have finally nailed down a deal.
"We went with Nintendo as they have huge appeal for families and Doctor Who is very much a family brand. The Wii console is key for us as it's something families play together."
The BBC is apparently keen to monitor the game closely and has rejected anything too violent.
The insider continued: "BBC Worldwide, which licenses BBC shows, has been trying to find some way of doing it. But you can't have Doctor Who blowing things to bits with a laser gun. That would massively change the nature of the show."

You don't know what kind of deal Ubisoft and Nintendo could have made.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be cash up front. For example, maybe Nintendo can simply waive fees to entice them.

Perhaps, just throwing my thought out there. Rayman Origins seems like a game that would do great on Nintendo platforms, but it didn't. Yet its getting exclusive support on Wii U. Curious to see how that turns out, could be a surprise hit.

Nobody cares about PS3/Vita link up. But maybe more people would if Vita was a peripheral included with every PS3.
