Of course not. Why should I bet on predictions I made joking around!

Take of LBX2 and you have a deal, though! I didn't recognized it at first.

Little Big Planet will be huge. What are you predictions member who did not even know I existed until recently?

LBP does not sell that good in Japan unfortuanly, but at that price it might sell more than it's predescessors. Of those six games listed, I think that LBP will sell the most, but it won't sell that much either.

LBX2 is released in PSP too, and it's where the game will sell.

My bet FW:

9/20 - Little Big Planet Vita (MSRP 3,990 yen) - 9K
9/27 - Ys Celceta (reg and LE) - 40K
DJ Max Technika Tune (reg and LE) - 3K
Earth Defense Force 3 Portable (reg and double pack) - 40K
Nobunaga's Ambition - 3K

Danboru Senki - 20K

Total: 115k

Danboru Senki (Little Battlers eXperience W) will sell the most, imo, even if shared with PSP.

Next Ys and Earth Defense force - around 30k each, imo.

The rest, I think won't sell well.

So I guess we're going with the 420k figure being correct then?

Regardless, it sounds about right from what I was reading in the COMG thread. I don't know why anyone would call it a failure, for an mmo it seems pretty good.

Now, the choice to make it an mmo on the other hand...

Anybody calling DQX a flop, or otherwise, needs to wait for long-term subscription numbers. In the same veign, anybody using FFXI's first week numbers as an indicator should be aware that they are not reflective of the game's long term success.

FFXI had 500,000 active users, 6 years after release.

That is an MMO success.

It won't be huge in Japan, as much as I'd love it to be.  The price will help though.

Business-wise or in terms of entertainment value?

Horrible for mainline DQ, it probably won't cross 600k.

It's beating FFXI, which is really the only comparison that can possibly be made here.

Plus SE had to double server capacity, so it's clearly performing past expectations.

And know you that i was alerted to this post because someone reported it. It's not actionable in my opinion, but be wary.

aside from laughing at the banter up to here...

...didn't monster hunter have a subscription in japan?  not quite an MMO but same basic idea and from a popular franchise.  that might be comparable.  how did that do?

Was this an attempt to spin DQX into a flop?  If so, you invalidated your own comparison.
