The entire page-worth of conversation resulting from this exchange was irrelevant. Virtual Console, anyone?

Anyway, the answer to pezus's bolded question is in the sales. By all means, pezus, play the old games if you prefer them. But over 25 million people would rather like to play these new ones. I can't answer for all 25 million to why they don't just play the old ones.

Maybe it was irrelevant to you, but obviously not to us.

The whole issue was avoidable. Anyone with a modern Nintendo console practically has access to Nintendo's entire catalogue. You don't have to still have a working NES to play SMB any more.

Why are you telling me this?

pezus said people might as well just keep replaying old Mario games. You said not everyone has a working oldmachine with which to play said games. The two of you then spent the better part of a page debating whether or not most people still have working oldmachines. I'm pointing out that access to oldmachines is irrelevant because newmachines can play oldgames.

Unless you're telling me that whole conversation was just for kicks.

I thought this was a discussion about the weekly sales lol! Clearly it has turned to something else. DQX seems to have good sales considering for an MMO and an aging Wii. This is great no? :)

I knew about the VC the whole time.

I was humouring his debate that you could just play 2D Mario on old machines for whatever reason he said.
