Horrible for mainline DQ, it probably won't cross 600k.

Damn! you should of made that a thread so that people could tell you how wrong you are. :P

Should HAVE.

If you're gonna diss someone at least be grammatically correct about it.

The entire page-worth of conversation resulting from this exchange was irrelevant. Virtual Console, anyone?

Anyway, the answer to pezus's bolded question is in the sales. By all means, pezus, play the old games if you prefer them. But over 25 million people would rather like to play these new ones. I can't answer for all 25 million to why they don't just play the old ones.

Maybe it was irrelevant to you, but obviously not to us.

The whole issue was avoidable. Anyone with a modern Nintendo console practically has access to Nintendo's entire catalogue. You don't have to still have a working NES to play SMB any more.

You just need a PSP.

Grammer naughtzee ;/)

Can someone pleased explain DQ X model like is there a subscription option for multiplayer and the option for a single player story or to simply play it do you need to pay a subscription like a standard mmo

Basically the first couple of hours are offline, then you're forced to connect to continue. There are "children's times" throughout the week when it's free to connect, otherwise you need to subscribe.

Please somebody smart look this up to add to the sales discussion:

What was the install-base of the DS at the time of NSMB launch and what was the install-base of the 3DS at the time of NSMB2?

That was great, thanks. You basically did what I was wondering about.

---

You can't just take a game and its sequel and compare only the sales numbers and assume that everything else is equal. Doesn't work that way.

There's a lot more variables in there but the Nintendo haters just want to say that NSMB2 didn't sell very well based on the sales of the first one.

You're welcome :]

I think you're absolutely right (bold), and I think the skeptics have their reasons, most Nintendo fans clamored similar sales between NSMB and NSMB2 and that doesn't seem to be true (DD sales pending).

It would have been better for us to give actual sales # predictions for NSMB2, but I started that thread too soon and forgot to post it back up. I'll try to remember for the US and European launch.
