“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Don't ever EVER buy an iBUYPOWER PC. They are fucking terrible. The one you linked in the OP is pretty good. Will max out about 70% of games. The second one you linked is alright. Has an inferior processor to the first one.

Please, everybody, do not post silly links. Are you even aware what junk a GeForce 520 is?

With $800, obviously praising SSDs and Intel I7s is also out of question.

With that budget, find an AMD 6core and something with a GeForce 560/AMD 7850 range. 4G Ram is enough if you go 32 bit OS, 8G is good for 64 bit OS.

I'd link him to the PC I bought but I can't find it anymore. And a 6850 is enough for about 95% of games out. 7800 series and above is a ripoff.

Go look at Disolitide's thread, he's building/made a pretty powerfull compact pc.

Don't buy from HP!

And don't buy pre-built gaming PCs!

Have someone who knows computers help you build your own. That way, you'll get optimized performance for the money that you are willing to spend.

I LOVE ICELAND!

You need to build your own PC if you want the best possible for the lowest cost and its not as hard as you think. Just ask for advice on good parts on this site, use NewEgg to buy the stuff, and follow directions.

i would say if you go nvidia 560 or better and ATI 6870 or better. 2 gig gddr5 is almost a requirement now for some games, both of those cards have 2gig options, thought the 6870 comes with 1 gig by default.

though if you can stretch your budget your the 7850 is a great steal around the 220 dollar mark on new egg, its about as powerful as a 560 ti 448 or a 6970

if you do go the build your own route buy a modular psu so much easier to work with, seasonic or corsair are both great brands

and i would recommend a sandybridge/ivybridge i5 for gaming over the 6core amd, your frame rate will suffer a bit using the amd chip (not major but will be negative)
