You have to remember that Retailers only carry a certain amount of titles for any perdiod of time, they are VERY selective on which titles will occupy the limited Shelfspace (SPECIALLY ON THE HOLIDAYS!!!!); so dont expect them to restock a lot of copies of this game in particular, nor give it a lot of exposure.

we will have a lot of NEW 3DS games by that time that will be a PRIORITY, at least for the retailer.

At this point, I'm not convinced that there are that many "NEW 3DS games" coming this year. I mean, outside of the obvious ones, I think that a lot of developers have decided to avoid this holiday season for some reason.

And for the record, nothing stops older titles from selling exceptionally well. Wipeout: The Game, from Activision, sold over 130,000 in America in a single week, a year and a half after launch. It happens. Retailers respond to demand, and they're able to see when demand spikes.

Zelda OOT is a special case, it will sell for all of the 3DS life, Metal Gear Solid 3 probably not :P:P, maybe retailers will have shelfspace for the game this holiday season, maybe (and probably) not (shelfspace for a 1st party game that is so important as OOT will always be there, the same cant be said for a lazy 3rd party game that hasnt sold well). And as you said, the people has already decided they want the better game, the MGS HD collection, and not this laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy excuse of a game.

Agreed that the fan picked up the HD collection stead. I too will pick it up once it costs  aroudn $30AUD (atm $77AUD). Full retail game here is around $90-$110 (higher end of this range is rare these days)

It was jsut amazing though that the 3D aspect of the game was originally a wow factor then it fizzelled.

Couldnt you say the same for the 3d feature period?? Can only speak for myself but it fizzled for me before i even got the 3DS

I'm very happy with 3DS software and hardware sales so far- I am getting the feeling that it's really going to take off from this Christmas season onwards in the West.

I'm kind of feeling that way too.

The only thing is that Europe is really, really lagging!

It always does- probably even worse than usual due to the economic situation

There are games that sell better in europe. Look at Art Academy:

Look at soccer-games (one FIFA as example):

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/50884/fifa-soccer-12/

Some other stuff too. We have our monster hunters (meaning games that sell significantly more over here in Europe).

But yeah, overall Europe plays more on PC than on console.

I think Resident Evil suffers from being bundled with the CPP. People associate RE with the CPP in the west and think that the game is unplayable without it, but the CPP adds additional cost, is not really portable and ugly. So they hold off on buying it. I imagine the unbundled game doesn't sell at all.

It's a shame, because the game is really good, with or without CPP.

I don't think jumping onto unknown but established IP's is a big problem.

I bought the game unbundled.

There will always be crazy people. ;-P

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

in a way you could if the 3d only creats a 3d effect that does not impact on how you move in a game.

as an example so far, the only game I really use the 3d on is the mario game. and that is only because i discovered a few times on one of the levels where you jump across clouds, i kept hitting the one above me and falling to my death. Then when i finally turned the 3d on I noticed it was almost directly above me and i had to jump around it to the other cloud first.

ive honestly never had that problem in that game, i beat it and i probably had the 3d for 35% of the time, im not knocking the 3d, its just meh to me.

Smartphone Revolution. Enough Said.

Please tell us how a maximum of 20 - 30 best selling games, and about only 10 selling north of 5 million copies (3 of these being Angry Birds variations), is a revolution?

Most people play Solitaire, Angry Birds or a Sudoku Style word/number game. Were talking 90% of the IPhone Market.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
