Forums - Nintendo - 3DS Game Sales

I am surprised that Resident Evil hasn't sold more than a million yet. It was really hyped up and looked/looks amazing. Hopefully it'll get more attention this Holiday.
Not surprised about MGS however.

I'm very happy with 3DS software and hardware sales so far- I am getting the feeling that it's really going to take off from this Christmas season onwards in the West.

I'm kind of feeling that way too.

The only thing is that Europe is really, really lagging!

by these types of games I mean ones people claim are always hardcore and missing on a nintendo platform.

RE mercenaries i think failed to sell well because of the one save allowed which can't be deleted (aim was to prevent the sale of second hand games). This was Capcom's fault. I am left wondering now that you mentioned mercenaries, if people are just shafting Capcom totally because of that mess up.

@Conegamer, I was more referring to the people who only own Nintendo consoles and not the multiple owners who never by hardcore on Nintendo. Surely games like the ones you mentioned should have appealed to at least 30% of the Nintendo crowd who buy the marios and zeldas etc..

It always does- probably even worse than usual due to the economic situation

The DS did better. There is more to it than Economics, I think.

What is the word about it in the UK? Do people like it? Is it popular?

It's not recieving much coverage (ie. advertisements, media etc.), and there is still a lot of people that believe that it's another iteration of the DS. This will change as the games arrive, because they realise that they won't be able to buy the new games on their DSes. Oh, and teenagers don't care much for it-  but that's to be expected

And did DS do a lot better or was it in this same situation at the time?

I mostly got the 3DS just for nintendo games.

Well after the launch crap like Street Fighter IV and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, i won't be buying any-more 3rd party games for the 3DS unless it's cheap download stuff.

And why would anyone with a Nintendo system want to play sequels from franchise that have never appeared before on a Nintendo system, the third parties screwed themselves by not putting out the games in the first place.
