Im saying if you can port an unreal 4 game to the wiiu i'm guessing you could make one from scratch on it. Its seems so crazy to me that they don't support it.

Nobody knows, including Epic.

Exactly this. Hence why they also did not confirm support for the other two next gen consoles yet.
Also I think epics idea is that if it can't run at 100% what we want then forget it anythign less is unacceptable, hece why they been pleading with micrososft and sony to beef up their specs.
I can't help but wonder what's going on behind the scenes, right now.
Nintendo had Epic create the "Garden Demo" for the Wii U's 2011 showing. Have Epic changed their mind on supporting the Wii U, did Nintendo just ask them to show off their skills to try to entice them, or is this a case of misdirection of some sort?
For instance, might it be that Epic are making a separate engine for the Wii U, specifically tweaked for that system? After all, Nintendo wants to provide as much encouragement as possible for exclusives without having to "moneyhat" it, and having a strong and exclusive engine from Epic would probably help.
so it can handle it in some fashion, but there is no need to do so now and therefore no point in investing money in that right now. However, when there are a couple consoles out that can utilize it, then it will happen.
As we have learned from the past, no high end consoles has ever lead the market, ever. Being that Epic continually pushes Sony and Microsoft to push their specs to unnecessary levels, coupled with economic global crisis could mean further closures of developers and might possibly be Sony or even Microsoft's gaming division.

Kinda surprised they wouldn't support it officially TBH.

1. It's not like that's any different from the Wii 2. In case you missed it, he said the engine can be scaled 3. Unreal Engine isn't the end all be all of game engines, there are alternatives out there. |
no, i got it that it can be scaled down. that's not the important part. the reason unreal is so popular compared to the alternatives is Epic has far superiour support for their engine than anyone else. if epic aren't supporting U4 on wii U than devs won't use it just like they aren't using the U4 alternatives this gen. it is too expensive to work in unsupported software.

I think this will mean that we won't see any Wii U exclusives using UE4, and really just means that if publishers think that the market is worth it they have the option of porting the engine over themselves. I think that they said something similar about UE3 and the Wii tho and I don't think that any devs actually did it.
