Forums - Nintendo - Epic doesn’t plan on bringing Unreal Engine 4 to Wii U, but ports are possible

Not a huge suprise there, but welcome news that UE4 will be scalable.

Not really different form what they are doing now with ue3, but nice to know.

there you have it. wii U's third party support dries up upon the release of MSony's next consoles.

Just make sure that you keep the Wii U that you are buying in pristine condition so that you can get top dollar on Craigslist for it when you are getting ready to buy the next Msony's console.

LOL!! I remeber that I sold my Wii for $500 AUD after only having it for 2-4 months.

This was to be expected, maybe Sony and MS new consoles will also have scalable versions of UE4, maybe not as much as the Wii U but still in some degree

lulz.

A) this will most likely be the first nintendo console i don't buy and B) if i do buy it... i have never sold a console/game yet and doubt i ever will.

so, scalable means we could see many nextbox and ps4 games on wii u even if these versions couldn't run on wii u because developers could scale it down "easily" to run on wii u? that would be great for all wii u owners who don't want to buy more consoles. or does this only mean we could get wii u games running with unreal engine 4 but not the same games running with that engine on nextbox/ps4?

The main line is "if a customer decides they want to port an Unreal Engine 4 game to Wii U, they could" That pretty much answers all question about whether or not it will run on the system.

ahh ok thx i read over the "port" part then. that's really great news, not that we know if these developers will do it but at least some bigger games have a chance then.

Not enough graphic juice I guess for Epic.

Problem is that whether there will ever be enough. Or whether there will be a market for what Epic considers enough.
