A song I listened to all day, one I can actually work to and calms me down on tough days. :]

I will tell you that FFXIV is EXTREMELY easy to play. You can get to the level cap of 50 just by soloing! Not joking. This game is geared towards both partying and soloing. It's just that some areas and quests/missions require partying to get through. I hardly party on the game myself and I'm currently trying to get enough gil through these repeatable quests called Leves that you do (you get gil and items such as food, gear, weapons, etc.). To change classes/jobs, all you need is to switch the weapons/tools in your first hand slot. Want to be a Gladiator? Equip a sword. Want to be a Maurader? Equip a great axe. Once you get to Lv30 with your battle classes, you can upgrade them to your jobs (classes are more versatile and are easier for soloing; jobs are geared towards partying).
Gladiator (sword) > Paladin
Pugilist (hand-to-hand) > Monk
Maurader (great axe) > Warrior
Lancer (polearm) > Dragoon
Archer (bow) > Bard
Conjurer (wand/staff) > White Mage
Thaumaturge (wand/staff) > Black Mage

Every 5 levels for your jobs, you can learn weapon skills, skills, and get your end-game (Artifact) armor for the jobs. Unlike Final Fantasy XI when you switch to a new job that you start from Lv1; instead on FFXIV the jobs are actually like a fresh coat of paint to your class. Lv30 Paladin (Gladiator) etc. by just equipping a Soul Crystal.

Btw, DRG is kickass and you'd LOVE it on the game. Once Version 2.0 is released, there will be more classes/jobs available. Wagram will be making a new thread in honor and hyping 2.0 once the new information is released by SE in August, so keep checking the MMO forum on here.
Sorry for going off-topic XD

I dunno, I think FFVI has the best set of important shocking scenes.
1 - Kefka killing Leo
2 - Kefka poisoning Doma
3 - Kefka blowing up the world
4 - Celes trying to commit suicide (the entire island scene is heartwrenching)
5 - The opera house.
7 - The entire doomtrain scene where Cyan loses his family for good.
8 - the final Fight with ALL 14 OF YOUR CHARACTERS and dancing mad.
what I'm trying to say is that game is awesome. While the gameplay itself was pretty simplistic and dare I say primitive (it was great for its time), the story and characters remain, in my opinion, the best evolved and well done not only in its series, but of all videogames. I honestly don't think there were as many good scenes in any other FF game, not even 10 or 7, which I think were the next best when it comes to story. wait, or IV, that was very good as well.
FFVII's Aeris Scene actually didn't do anything for me. part of it was the fact that I knew it was coming, but wit Sephiroth coming down from above like that, cape spread out...it just made me think "Classic case of style over substance", even back when I was 12.
The only time I cried in a FF game was at the end of X, something about that game really hit home with me. VIII had a lot of powerful scenes as well, but they were all later in the game, most notably after squall finally stops being a whiner and admits his love for Rinoa...once he got off his ass that story got very intimate and beautiful. Them floating in space thinking they were going to die, just wanting to be in each other's arms for their last moments is one of the most touching FF moments ever.
FFIX had a lot of WTF moments where so many places got destroyed, but oddly none stand out. After cleyra is leveled, the other ones just don't have much emotional impact. still shocking, but nothing compared to VI's shocking moments.
XII was a great game, but for the life of me I can't recall a single significant event in that game...I just remember how awesome Balthier was.
IV is still fresh in my mind, but sadly I haven't played that one to death yet, so I don't know as much about it...but characters sacrificed themselves so often in that game it was kind of astounding you HAD a party at the end of the game.
I'm sure Final Fantasy Tactics gets a mention here...

I know what you mean. I found it hard to believe the harsh critics Final Fantasy XIII received. For me it was on of the most mature storytelling I ever experienced in a video game. The story was very deep and the characters felt very human.
FF13 was a very complex game where you have to think about what is actually going on. Thats what might put off many gamers because most western games do not require much intelligence to understand the story (that means if there is one in the first place) . I couldn't understand why people had problems with names like "L'Cie" or "Fal'cie"...
That reminds me of a quote from Terry Pratchett:
"That seems to point up a significant difference between Europeans and Americans. A European says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with me?" An American says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with him?" "
The CGI cutscene in the beginning of FFX when sin attacks Zanarkand. Amazing!
I always get turned on by the idea of the Slave Crown in FF VI
I LOVE ICELAND!

Those choices are all positive, if it were a positive one then it would be FFIX feeling like you can explore a whole town at the beginning in intricate detail. (Obvously not actually true but when you're young you don't realise).
My preferred choice would be hearing Tidus tell you "his story" and think what kind of transexuallized nancy boy, monstrosity of a person was capable of such voice acting.
Baring in mind this was one of the first voiced over JRPGs I encountered, so it's a given now.
EDIT - Just seen the actual post contained the word "favourite" but the topic title was "memorable". Well mine is based on "memorable".
