Forums - Sony - Dear Sony, How to make PSN better when PS4 launches

With regards to cross game chat, are people so incapable of being alone that they can't play their games without someone to talk to? I can understand wanting to play with people in the same game, e.g multiplayer but not playing with someone else playing a different game.

It's more of: "Hey I can chat with my buddy even though I don't have to play --insert game here--."  It just makes it alot easier for socially active people to get together and have a good time.  It's not a widely requested feature for nothing.

there is no better place to advertise than home. a cluttered UI filled with ads is a shit UI so keep it for XBL, they pay for it anyway.

which leads me to what I think Sony should do for PS4: better integrate home, make it the main hub of all things PlayStation, A whole world where your entire community can interact with each other and have a direct link to the platform holder and all things PlayStation be it E3 press conferences, game announcements, etc. regardless of friends list status for free, there is no better social creation this gen the can match what home should be.

And as for Ads, well Ads are more natural there, seeing them on billboards, trailers playing on the various TV/movie screens add a visually appeal that is more akin to what you see in real life and therefore isn't a distraction.

Next generation PlayStation should have everyone connected to home in which they would all be connected to each other. Reinvent the menu/UI to a full virtual world, that would be an innovation

Ugh. No way. Headsets> eye/kinect/speak.
OT: I agree with you though. My only suggestion is to allow you to play games as you download. Stream games and demos like onlive if so desired. More full functional cloud storage. Ability to watch a video without downloading it. Maybe flesh out the store with more classic games from dreamcast, genesis, psx, ps2, and add psp games.

You can play games, while you download stuff.

I want to play the game I am downloading as I download it though.

+1

Definately the way I feel. I hate having to call my friend when I should be able just to communicate through the ps3. It sucks. PS3 may be incapable of doing such a complex task but maybe the ps4 will be capable of it. Also, I want to play my music as I play games. It would be sweet to listen to the latest tunes while playing multiplayer games and mindless games although I wouldn't use that feature for most games.

Is it my imagination or are games a little more complexed than say a video which can be streamed whilst downloading?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Sometimes when I'm grinding or trophy hunting I'd like to talk to people. My altenative now is listening to podcasts...

And it's just easier in-game, you don't have to worry about getting kicked or anything, you're always in instant contact. And the layout and party system is just easier on XBL.
