So much for the May launch window: Max Payne 3 a flop, according to NPD; can't believe Rockstar put off releasing GTA to work on that game

Without divulging too much NPD goodness, I can tell you that Max Payne 3 sales were less than 50% of L.A. Noire's. 8 years in development!

But seriously, I don't care for take two games, except GTA, which would be cool to have on Wii U. Oh, well, plenty of time before the game comes, so things can change. Maybe even an updated port later. But Nintendo must buy the idea - emphasis on "buy"

He's just mad because he knows Nintendo obviously wants GTA series on their systems, and hope to make an exclusivity deal but Nintendo won't.

I think clearly most of the major devs are adopting a "wait and see" approach. If the console sells well, contrary to the majority of opinion on the net at the moment, then developers will bring games to it. Until that happens, they see it as being too risky or too much of an effort to make games designed to the tablet controllers with doubt hanging over the console. In the end, its up to whether Nintendo to make or break it. If they make the Wii U into a hit, similar to the Wii before it, then developers will flock to it.

How much is it difficult to port those ps360 games to WiiU? If it sells 300-500K, will not they make profit out of it?

Am i the only one that finds your avatar creepy?

Self-fulfilling prophecy.

1) Don't release what are considered big core games.
2) Claim that big core games don't sell on the platform. (Because they weren't released for it.)
3) Use this as justification for your initial decision. See point 1).

truth. Wii pushed copies of core games esily (Resident Evil 4, Monster Hunter 3 etc.)

3rd parties can be crappy

I don't know when GTA5 is coming out, but if it launched with the Wii U and was advertised for the Wii U, it would easily push 1mill, easily. Especially if it was a timed exclusive.

Sad news for WiiU, obviously GTAV will be a huge miss, but other games like Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite will be too :/

They're happy to lose potential money I guess, if they deliberately don't build up a fanbase on Wii U, they'll have problems making lots of money with the increasing costs of developing, even with a two-console-and-PC development.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Mind you this seems to happen to Nintendo only. Look at 3DS, 17million user base versus VITA 2million and yet VITA constantly gets 3rd party annoucements of well known franchises. YOu would think 3DS would get the same if not better treatment. Surely it has proven itself already?

Can't tell if sarcastic...

Seriously, 2 Monster Hunters, 2 Resident Evils, Kingdom Hearts, Tekken, Street Fighter, Professor Layton, Dragon Quest, Scribblenauts, LEGO, Rayman, Harvest Moon, and many others, including Game Gear VC support from SEGA. Vita has been getting mostly ports of console games, and the amount of effort that went into them has been reflected in their poor sales.

OT: Meanwhile in Japan, Nintendo is "skeptical" about Take Two. Really, if I had to guess, this is probably a regional issue. Take Two is a Western developer; GTA is primarily targeted toward Western audiences. Nintendo's consoles tend to sell better in Japan. Take Two is probably waiting to see how Ubisoft, EA, and Activision's games will sell on Wii U. If they sell decently, Take Two is gonna scramble to get a Wii U port of GTAV ready. Hopefully the quality doesn't suffer as a result of their cowardice.

Kinda makes you wonder why they even bothered putting the GTA and Max Payne games on a system that barely sold 20m units (Xbox 1) in the first place.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
