Trololol.
"You pick up, play, and enjoy. It’s so simple. Not so for Wii U. The console comes as standard with the big lug of a tablet controller as well as a Wii Remote and nunchuk. Then, there’s the Pro controller you can buy (effectively a PS3/Xbox controller clone), the balance board, the zapper, the Mario Kart wheel, Motion Plus (if your controller is from pre-2010), all confirmed to work with Wii U. It’s a veritable sea of white plastic, and granny will drown, fast."
1) If Granny is badass enough to be buying a Wii Zapper, I think she can handle herself.
2) I love how the pro controller is a clone of the PS360 controller, not the N64/GC/Classic Controller Pro.
3) There were 7 devices here, 5 of which are for the Wii, 1 of which is WiiU exclusive and 1 of which is just the Wii U's version of the classic controller, so we go from 6 pieces of white plastic to 7, and the conclusion is 'the Wii was so simple having 6, but 7 is way too many'.
3b) Actually, I think we can assume that existing Wii owners have this shit sorted by now, so all we need to worry about are new customers, for whom WM+ comes prebuilt into the Wiimotes. So Wii actually had 6 pieces of white plastic, as contrasted to the Wii U's 6. Huge increase!!!1one
4) People have been bitching about how many controllers/peripherals are 'necessary' for the Wii since about the release of Wii Fit. This bitching has only been done by people who would never buy a Nintendo product, even if their life depending on it.
