Forums - Nintendo - Why Wii U will be brilliant - and ultimately fail

It thought we still had a grace period before having to endure all the obnoxious comparison tables, where people totted up the price of all a console plus optional accessories just to say "LOOK! [my favourite console] is cheaper in the long run!". Some people just can't wait.

Two years from now, Kwaad will return again. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=26890&page=1

[inception bwong video]

Haha, nice. I've recently been catching up on some films I have missed but wanted to watch and Inception was one of them. Cool film, though it was my first time seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt since 3rd Rock from the Sun, which was a little weird. I mean ultimately he played the gangster-like role well but he still didn't seem to fit... I think partially because he is small and skinny, and partially because I still think of him as Tommy.

On a side note, Distict 9 has been the missed film I am most impressed with... I mean Inception was a good fantasy-action flick but District 9 has probably entered my as yet unmade top 10 films list.

Why do you think WiiU will fail? Just because "hardcore gamers" arent buying it? ( not true)
There are 250m potential users...50m easy
most casuals are going to buy it, because believe it or not they liked the Wii...

i agree

I love how E3 ended not even a week ago and Wii U is already doomed.

Wii U is DOOMZ! Not as doomed as Vita but DOOMZ!

This is an opinion made by a driven, anti-nintendo fanboy.

The proof:
The balance board, the wheel and the zapper are aimed at the casual market. The assumption is that the majority of the casual market already owns these for the Wii, so this is a non-issue, they are already informed on these products.

2) The Pro controller is intended for hobbyists, who by definition are informed, another non-issue.

3) The pad controller is not a lug, tablets are not lugs, they are considered as some of the most human-friendly HW interfaces ever created (as the iPad can show, granny will not sink, rather she will fly playin angry birds).

You can take this article and help anyone whipe their dirty bums with it. No joke, it's just a retarded PoV.

ive heard the wii u gamepad is amazing i want to try it

Trololol.

"You pick up, play, and enjoy. It’s so simple. Not so for Wii U. The console comes as standard with the big lug of a tablet controller as well as a Wii Remote and nunchuk. Then, there’s the Pro controller you can buy (effectively a PS3/Xbox controller clone), the balance board, the zapper, the Mario Kart wheel, Motion Plus (if your controller is from pre-2010), all confirmed to work with Wii U. It’s a veritable sea of white plastic, and granny will drown, fast."

1) If Granny is badass enough to be buying a Wii Zapper, I think she can handle herself.
2) I love how the pro controller is a clone of the PS360 controller, not the N64/GC/Classic Controller Pro.
3) There were 7 devices here, 5 of which are for the Wii, 1 of which is WiiU exclusive and 1 of which is just the Wii U's version of the classic controller, so we go from 6 pieces of white plastic to 7, and the conclusion is 'the Wii was so simple having 6, but 7 is way too many'.
3b) Actually, I think we can assume that existing Wii owners have this shit sorted by now, so all we need to worry about are new customers, for whom WM+ comes prebuilt into the Wiimotes. So Wii actually had 6 pieces of white plastic, as contrasted to the Wii U's 6. Huge increase!!!1one
4) People have been bitching about how many controllers/peripherals are 'necessary' for the Wii since about the release of Wii Fit. This bitching has only been done by people who would never buy a Nintendo product, even if their life depending on it.

I think many are forgetting that Dragon Quest X will be on Wiii U and we all know how well it doses in Japan^^

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

I don't think it'll have any difficulty.

People see the tablet and think of the iPad. They likely have a Wii (everyone has one FGS) so the other attachments will make no difference.

Sure, it may make a few months to really find its feet and differentiate itself, like the 3DS, but when it does, it'll be too late for Sony and Microsoft.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
