Forums - Nintendo - Why Wii U will be brilliant - and ultimately fail

stupid?

there are a lot of options here.  it's not a matter of intelligence but rather education.  the casual market wasn't watching nintnedo direct.  they don't watch E3 streams.  they don't go to vgchartz or ign or whatever to inform themselves.  but they - like you already are - need to be educated.  it is now nintendo's job to properly market and explain the wii U.  the lots of controller options and configuration simply make the message more complex, more difficult to get out in a 30 second commercial, and more likely to not be understood by those who don't go out of there way to inform themselves.

Kitler, scottie and I already addressed these points pretty solidly I found.

There will be no more market confusion than what existed for the Wii a gen prior. Plus, consumers will be delighted to know that the money they spent in the Wii will be put to use in the U. Retailers know about these things, and will be educated to explain BC this to consumers. But even then, BC wasn't the issue brought up in OP. The issue brought up in OP, as noname said, is "TEH PLASTICS!!1"

Virtually impossible. NSMBU alone will guarantee that. Win or lose, Wii U will be leaps and bounds ahead of GameCube

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Actually I'm more concerned about its long term capabilities vs the rest of next Gen. I want to own one console, not two.

Well because your posting here, you more then likely have a comp.  Why not get use your comp to game and the Wii U for that intuitive experience we all crave.

1) I like to game on front room TV and couch and I have no interest in connecting computer to TV.

2) I have no interest in upgrading PC every couple of years vs buying new console every 5-6.

3) I have no interest in messing with drivers and controller compatibility.

4) I want simplicity and convience. Kinda the reason why most poeple choose consoles over PC gaming.
