Forums - Nintendo - Wii U games to run at 720p, 30 fps.

well every developer wants to make money at first hand even if lets say Batman sells 100k on wii u but probably they cant do it if they use 1080p full specs etc...so those kind of games have to wait its already risky to publish old games on a new console especialy on wii u.

That's sad, but I guess it's a choice they have made, not a necessity.

I can't imagine the WiiU not being powerful enough to run New Super Mario Bros U at Full HD.

360 can't do native 1080p.. ps3 is the only current gen console that was designed for native 1080p.. 360 does native 1080p but it's a fake version of it..

How exactly?

look it up on google

Did it. Googled "360 fake 1080p" (without the brackets) and found nothing of relevance.
Care to explain or give me a link ?

Xbox 360 has a dedicated chip that upscales, so its very efficient at "rendering" in 1080p. Doesn't matter who's right, the Xbox 360 has a vastly better GPU (I'm a PS3 fanboy too).

gosh, here goes another batch of unoptimized low framerate screen tearing games on consoles, last gen games ran amazingly well even though they were running on old hardware, developers are just too lazy to optimize games nowadays, why optimize when everyone just only cares about "GRAPHICS!" and not that the game actually runs well, some console games nowadays feel like a phot slide show, and the fact there is more focus on shooters and action games that the framerate takes a huge dip every now and then, even in cutscenes , consoles need to go back to CGI cutscenes , the in game cutscenes always look bad.

two thoughts.

A) i fucking new it. when reggie said it can display in 1080 and 60 fps and all the nintendo fans took that too mean every game would be in 1080 and 60 fps i new you guys were jumping to conclusions. some games will, some games won't just like on the ps3. it will depend on where the developer want to put their resources.

B) meh, don't care. yes i like 1080 for sure but i also hate blocking environments from low poly counts. i'm certain that the next MSony console will have more power and that their consoles won't be 1080p, 60 fps either. as above, developers will choose where to put their resources. 30 fps i can almost guarantee will be pretty standard next gen.

I watched that video 2 years ago and I KNEW that's where your information from.

He's on of the biggest PS3 fanboys on Youtube, either he's bullshitting or the results are like that because the Xbox 360 dashboard and everything displayed in the dashboard is native 720p being upscaled to 1080p.

I love how a thread is about Wii U then turns into a PS3 vs 360 thread, I think it's impressive that a new machine can get ports that quickly and get good performance without devs going nuts trying to squeeze shit on it.

Do I think 720p 30FPS is good enough? On a PC, fuck no, GTFO, but on a console, I'm in noway as picky /shrug. Look at my PC Specs, I'm expecting high performance because I dumped cash into my PC, consoles don't cost nearly as much, it's like a fraction of my PC, it's not supposed to be ZOMG HIGH END PC QUALITY! A lot of games can't even get 1080p 60FPS without the best video card or SLI/Crossfire and they draw a fuck ton more power than consoles! We are literally back to years ago in the early 2000s where PC is just really really far ahead at this point.

so what it doesn't matter if the systems sells 100 million and the games sell 20 millions

First of all, a Nintendo rep on the show floor could be a temp who doesn't know anything. So it may or may not be a good source.

Second, these games are probably using 720 so there is no loss when shipping a signal to the controller.

720p is still better than a great number of PS360 games and that's just launch games.

Additionally... I think 720p is perfectly fine for nearly anyone. 1080p will come in a year or so as engines are refined and beefed devs get more comfortable with the hardware.
