There's a message in all of this:

Nothing good can come from buying a playstation!!

How do you figure? If he bought a Playstation he would still be alive.

Oh, I read it as '4 year old boy killed his father for not letting him play his playstation'...

There's a new message in all of this:

Always read the OP!!

This kind of thing has become all too common in the world today. It's even more depressing to say that at this point, I expect to read this sort of news at least once a month.

What kind of father leaves a gun just lying around?

Anyway, I have a PS2, so I'm probably safe from my progeny.

"An angry four-year-old Saudi boy shot and killed his father for refusing to buy him a PlayStation, Saudi media reported on Monday.

The Asharq daily, citing police in the southern Jizan area, said the child, aged four years and seven months, grabbed his father's pistol and shot him in the head.

According to the newspaper, the child had asked his father to buy him a PlayStation and the shooting took place after the man returned home without the desired object.

As he was undressing, the man put the weapon down, which the child then grabbed and fired at him from close range."

I didn't put this under "Sony" or "Gaming", since I feel that this is primarily an issue concerning gun laws. But make of this news what you wish- it's still very sad to hear. The boy probably won't even understand what he's done until he's older

How is this a gun control issue? It looks more like poor parenting to me. Regardless, this is heartbreaking news.

Until he refused to buy every game the kid wanted...

That's terrible.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Make that kid play Dark Souls or Demon Souls so he'll regret what he has done.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

I don't think the issue is primarily the simple idea of "guns are bad" as much as it is "if you're going to have a gun, you need to be responsible."

But how can you tell if someone is going to be responsible with a gun? Is it right to "test" people and only give guns to ones who are deemed responsible? Like it or not, not everyone will be responsible with everything, and things like this will happen.

Then there's the topic of parenting...

^That's kind of what I meant. Of course there are people that are responsible, but as this story shows, stupidity is in all of us, and emerges in most of us. So leaving guns to anyone is not a safe way to cater to that basic human flaw.

I assume the kid knew how to handle a gun ? He pulled the safety aimed on his father and shot him ? So it wasnt an accident. Maybe he wasnt aware of the consequences ? Thats why you have to make sure your kids realize the concept of death before refusing to buy a Playstation.
