I wonder how much Dust will do. Hope it can reach 500K.

Since I couldn't do much over the past 2 months, there was a lot of new info to add.

Highlights:

- Minecraft does 3.6 million !
- Counter-Strike Global Offensive ~150k first week
- Hybrid flops hard
- New entry: Dungeon Defender (100th entry)
- Trials HD breaks 2 million sales !
- Peggle updated

Gamasutra August Leaderboard data:

But...but...Minecraft has sold 4.3m

Well that's what the leaderboard says, but Gamasutra themselves added that the numbers are higher than the sales. (Just like Castle Crashers)

Besides we get more than enough informations about Minecraft sales from the press, so I chose to use the real sales numbers instead. Should break 4 million at the end of this month.

Kinda late but Castle Crashers made it to 3 million leaderboard entries:

In other news I added a Release Date column and made some difficult calculations lol:

Year of release 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012
Number of entries    5(5%) 17(17%) 18(18%) 11(11%) 16(16%) 15(15%) 13(13%)    5(5%)

Added a game that slipped through my previous research:

Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers

And the first Indie Game to surpass 1.000.000 sales:

CastleMiner Z
http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/17/castleminer-z-cracks-one-million-still-fastest-selling-xblig/

1 million indie game seller nice! Wonder how the competition performs in this category?

Yay!!!

Why does minecraft have like 4.3m on Leaderboards and "only" sold 3.6m?

Because when you start an online multiplayer match with an "offline" co-op partner, both get on the leaderboards as long as he uses a valid Xbox account (and not a guest account).
Obviously you don't need to play co-op to get multiple entries on the leaderboards. Assuming you have 10 accounts on the same box, you could get 10 entries.

This is partially nullified by Minecraft owners who don't play online and therefore don't have a single leaderboard entry. Though in cases like Castle Crashers and Minecraft, there will always be more on it than less.

Just like I said, Minecraft did make it to 4m in September :P

Gamasutra update should follow in the next few days.

Finally the new Gamasutra report is here:

Highlights:

- Rock Band Blitz ~115k first month
- New entry: Counter-Strike Global Offensive (250k in 2 months)
- New entry: Tony Hawk's Pro Sakter HD
- Limbo breaks 1 million sales !
- Peggle is going to hit 1 million next month
