Yeah, it takes a while to get used to the voices, but they are (bar one or two exceptions) top-notch. However, it is sometimes annoying how they shout out EVERYTHING they do all the time...

That's what I'm worried about :P

You get used to it, to a point where it becomes second nature and actually rather enjoyable

Hehe yeah I hope so! I'm also thinking about getting the Last Story... should I?

Nope, here in Italy i've played it and returned after 2 weeks, it sucks balls. Not a real jrpg, not well organized and the story takes over the gameplay more then in any Metal Gear Solid game.

Don't buy The Last Story please.

I bought it and finished it yesterday- and I must disagree. It's not an instant classic, but it doesn't 'suck balls'. It's a good, touching game in parts, and I enjoyed my trip through the game.

You can not compare The Last Story to Xenoblade because they are a really different type of games. You don't compare Other M to Halo.

On its own ground The Last Story is a good game.

Even more reviews in, and they remain positive! Just a couple days to go now...be sure to get in quick!

Ok, let me help:

Nintendo World Report 9.5
"I didn't expect to give such a high score to a game I originally knew so little about. Then again, I didn't expect to play one of the best RPGs of the last ten years, either."

IGN 9:
"Xenoblade Chronicles is the best Japanese RPG of this generation. The fact that it looks like it's from the last generation is its only drawback, but its technical limitations are offset by imaginative artistic direction, innovative and compelling combat, and thoughtful design."

The IGN review has been up for nearly 6 months; it's the EU one, but re-dated.

More-

GameInformer- 9.5

I fell in love with JRPGs in the 16-bit era because they constantly showed me things I'd never seen before. Somewhere in the last 15 years, most RPG developers in Japan have lost sight of that, instead rehashing the same fantasies and floating by on nostalgia. Xenoblade Chronicles is the first JRPG I've played this generation that has me excited for the future rather than simply reminding me of happy memories from my past. Monolith Soft deserves praise for creating it.

Digital Chumps- 9/10

In the end Xenoblade Chronicles can be revealed through the elegance and simplicity of its title screen; a neatly wrapped present doesn't need an aggressive preamble to punch up the surprise inside. In the case of Xenoblade Chronicles, the quality of its contents speaks for itself.

GamesRadar- 4/5

While the lack of difficulty is a major bummer, it doesn't overshadow Xenoblade Chronicles' many other accomplishments. It offers a singularly beautiful world, streamlined, interesting gameplay, likeable characters, and a fantastic soundtrack - for these reasons alone it's probably the best RPG on the Wii.

It's great that it's getting such good reviews, as it really is one of the best jrpg's in a long time, and everyone needs to pick this game up imo, even if you have to buy a wii for it :D.

I was thinking about buying it within the next few weeks because of my birthday.

If you don't mind me asking, what's so good about it? I haven't dropped $50 on a game in a LONG time so I gotta see if its worth it.

It's completely worth it.

The game is simply massive, with tons of content to go through. The characters are diverse in their abilities, but generally well-balanced: some parties are  better than others for certain playstyles and situations, but there's always a different way to play. The combat system is well done, and holds up even after over a hundred hours.

Basically, it has both scope and depth. Highly recommended.

What a bunch of jokers.

This game will be released this Friday only in Gamestop right? If I haven't preordered do you think I might find it?

I was kind of dissapointed with IGN not re-reviewing this game. What is the deal with their critique of the graphics? I thought everyone loved the graphics?

Yeah, IGN seem to hate the Wii. Or they review so few Wii games they forget the massive difference. Fact is, the game is beautiful, like this:

(Again, a screenshot)

@Soma- Yes. I'd recommend pre-ordering it, to be on the safe side. Even if they don't get any extra copies because it's too late, any extra copies will go to you instead.

Don't worry. When the game launches, we'll be right as Reyn.

Still can't take the eerie laugh out of my mind...
