Forums - Nintendo - EVEN MORE Xenoblade reviews? Still looking promising!

So awesome, good to see it got a high score! Wonder what other reviews it'll get?

Xenoblade Chronicles proves that the best game don't need the best graphics to be the best.
Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii put every HD JRPG in the pocket easily.

I am curious, i wonder which reviews it would have gotten if it was an HD title.. xD

@Cone:

Monolith is owned by Nintendo? Oo didnt know that, but isnt F.E.A.R also developed by Monolith? o:

Yes. Monolith Productions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monolith_Productions

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monolith_Soft

Two different companies, that couldn't be further apart. Quite literally.

And the scores would have likely been lower. Because the game would have to have been scaled back or made more linear so it didn't break the bank (remember, Monolith Soft is only a small company. It was also held back by Nintendo for a few months to be fine-tuned rather than rushed out unfinished, which wouldn't have happened), and it would likely have been slated for not having better graphics (even upscaled to HD, it would never have looked as sharp as, say, Skyrim, and, as such, lost points because of it).

Finally, as a HD title, the Metascore would likely have been 0, as it probably wouldn't have left Japan. If it did, around 86.

It's great that it's getting such good reviews, as it really is one of the best jrpg's in a long time, and everyone needs to pick this game up imo, even if you have to buy a wii for it :D.

I was thinking about buying it within the next few weeks because of my birthday.

If you don't mind me asking, what's so good about it? I haven't dropped $50 on a game in a LONG time so I gotta see if its worth it.

Everything is good about it. Hugh breathtaking open world to explore, just like in the old school jrpg's. Great voice acting imo. Great Battle system, Great story, lots of side quests, over 60 hours of gameplay. pretty much everything that makes the old school jrpg's so good :D , this game is any jrpg lovers wet dream xD .

60 hours? You speed-running it? It took me 90 hours for a first run, and 180+ to do every side-quest, reach lv. 100 and defeat all the UM's (something I never did).

There are two Monoliths... the Fear one and Nintendo one - the one that made Soma Bringer, Xenoblade and Baten kaitos.

Personally, Nintendo's Monolith is waaaay better!

while i liked FEAR2 (and i dislike shooters in general, so this means something - didnt play the third yet), i agree, for Xeno and Baten Kaitos alone, which had like the craziest story-twist ever.

always thought theres only one Monolith.. lol, thanks for the clarification guys.

I did say over 60 hours xD . it took me about 70-80 hours to finish the game first time without doing many of the side quest, but the game could easly last alot longer then that like you said. But i could see how someone could also finish it within 60 hours if they wanted so thats why i used that as the magic number xD

Better than one site which said 35 hours first playthrough!

They obviously never finished the game

Such a shame that Monolith never got to finish the three remaining Xenosaga titles. Such a good series, with and ending that keeps you wanting more.
