Forums - Nintendo - EVEN MORE Xenoblade reviews? Still looking promising!

Nice to know that this game is pretty good. I can't wait to play it.

Pretty good? It's AWESOME!

Even with the list from Wagram of faults (all of which are minor), you never feel as though it's ruining your experience.

In light of that, I agree with the quest (but it all increases your affinity to other areas, and between the characters, so at least you can see the fruits of your labour), the monster (but outside of the Telethia, the Spirits and the Mechon the enemies are unique) and the difficulty points (however, many late-game enemies, like a particular boss in a particular organ, and optional bosses are extremely difficult...), but I cannot agree on the slowdown, as I didn't experience any, or the issue with the size of the areas (no-one has compained about a game being too big before. It helps you to level up, and it makes life easier for the quests.), or the issue with later levelling (this is pretty much the case in every game. At this point, it's the armour, the weapons and, most importantly, the equipped gems which make the biggest difference. Levelling only makes it easier to land hits.) personally, but all valid points.

But, as you say, still a great game. I'd love to play through it again now, but I've lent it to a friend >.<

didnt Game Informer also review it (with an 9.5) ?

You mean this one?

"I fell in love with JRPGs in the 16-bit era because they constantly showed me things I'd never seen before. Somewhere in the last 15 years, most RPG developers in Japan have lost sight of that, instead rehashing the same fantasies and floating by on nostalgia. Xenoblade Chronicles is the first JRPG I've played this generation that has me excited for the future rather than simply reminding me of happy memories from my past. Monolith Soft deserves praise for creating it."

Another damn good review!

Yeah, and i think its worth pointing out that Xeno did sell more copies in Europe than it did in Japan, which is huge!.. the sad thing is really that the localization in europe seems to be the most expensive one, due to translating it into EFIGS (some games do not, they only release in english, but i think we cant be mad about people not buying a game that isnt released in their native language! =/), and dealing with different Pubs and regiments per country.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

No we just need to wait for GameSpot and IGN. Hopefully they will see the game for what it actually is and not see that it's just on the Wii.

Seems like the game is still being advertised here in the U.K, along with Zelda SS, Last Story and Pandora's Tower:

This, along with Inazuma Eleven and Solatorobo localisations, to me shows that NoE really likes RPGs as of late.  I'm now just hoping that they pick up Atlus' 3DS games for a PAL release.

Pretty excited for this! 5 days left!

It's great that it's getting such good reviews, as it really is one of the best jrpg's in a long time, and everyone needs to pick this game up imo, even if you have to buy a wii for it :D.

I was thinking about buying it within the next few weeks because of my birthday.

If you don't mind me asking, what's so good about it? I haven't dropped $50 on a game in a LONG time so I gotta see if its worth it.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

After watching the review I must admit I was pretty impressed with the scale and scope of the game, the fact that it's completely non-linear and full of loot-bearing side quests a-la most WRPGs these days, and the combat system looked much better than your typical JRPG fare too.

Sad thing is that if this game was made for an HD system it would prolly be contender for GOTY, instead of being relegated to a niche release on the Wii.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Yeah...

some dev's really make doubtful decisions, like Bamdai with releasing/developing Graces F for Wii.. and now, they dont even publish the original version, but the PS3 version instead.

still, there should be enough Wii-Owners to embrace this game, tho' i get the point in not buying it, since it does not only look like a Wii title (a damn good looking wii title still!), but this more often than not also affects gameplay. (or so people might THINK)

@WRPG: yeah, Xeno is probably one of the few the the westernization worked, simply because they didnt westernize it, but make an Open-Worlded JRPG instead.

They didn't have a choice- Monolith is owned by Nintendo. Xenoblade is a first/second-party title. And it would never have got GOTY, however, it has had nominations in the EU, beating out Skyward Sword for best Wii game in some places, winning the overall GOTY in others, and narrowly missing out in more. No doubt when it's released in America it'll be even bigger!

However, the previous comment pretty much nailed it. It's nice to have a lot of free-roaming in JRPG's, something which has been cut out of recent JRPG's, sadly.
