Forums - Sales - Global SW/HW Up ! (17th March)

Vita managed to fall behind 3DS now in Europe too. This week came out Kid Icarus, although I think not it will boost 3DS very much, it should be enough to increase the gap even more.

Fifa Street is totally owning Europe. And great numbers for Tales of Grace.

For some time now I see, that even on the release of big games (like now Fifa Street in Europe and Wii Party in the US, or Mass Effect last week) the hardware of all three home consoles shows no increase. These games totally are sold to the already existing install base. That shows me more than anything else, that the time for this generation is over.

Global Software is up.

Tales of Graces F = 150k +

Tales did good for week 1 :)

Good number son Tales of Graces, will be picking my copy up this week.

Nobody mentioned that Twisted Metal was released in Europe and it BOMBED.
Please do not try to spin this in any way: 12k in the opening week is terrible.

Microsoft need to cut the price of the Xbox 360 in September, just 1 or 2 months before Halo 4, Forza Horizon and CoD Black Ops 2 will be released. The fact that there will be a SKU available next month, which is $50 more expensive than the (most expensive) launch model (!!!) from 2005 is just ridiculous.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Twisted Metal, yes. Has been neither fun nor relevant since PS1. Color me unsurprised (if there is such an expression ).

No spinning, we just wanted to let you be the first!!! No, don't thank us, just our duty!

About price cut, heavy marketing looks like it works as well for MS, but yes, now people must really be expecting a cut, so a cut could work the best this time, making many people stop waiting.

And didn't anybody notice that simultaneously the former home and portable leaders, and still leaders for lifetime sales, are currently the worst sellers in their respective markets? While most of Ninty profits still come from Wii and DS HW and SW, it's 3DS that currently keeps the brand relevant for HW. And while this is now perfectly fine for portables, where the succession can be considered successfully completed, Wii's brandname is quickly getting tarnished just before Wii U launch, not a clever marketing strategy.

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")

TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

Updated with Global SW numbers.

Twisted Metal flopped in Europe big time, but honestly, I never knew it was released, so I think its down to poor marketing here :/

(also it won't help that Game and Gamestation won't be stocking the game in the UK)

Pretty much everything is a little undertracked in Europe dude. It's the hardest region to track. That's why its always the last chart to go up on VgChartz.

Erm... isn't Japan always coming up later than Europe?

You're right. But we get Media Create every wednesday so I I kinda feel like we already have Japan numbers.

Nintendo knows what it's doing though. Wouldn't count them out just yet xD
