Last I heard (something like) 60% of women had an extremely negative view towards pornography and believed that it was demeaning to women. While I doubt he is thinking this far ahead, or that Santorum is enough of a "team player" to make this kind of sacrifice, it would be a good strategy for the Republicans to have someone toss out this suicidal grenade to be openly mocked by the media and political pundits; and then to use that mocking as a concrete example of how the left doesn’t really respect women.

Nothing sells like sex and food (and maybe instruments of war). With food you have no choice.

Looking at the Internet Pornography statistics 2012:

Every second - $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography.
Every second - 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography.
Every 39 minutes: a new pornographic video is being created in the United States.

A couple or so years back the worldwide internet industry was worth almost a $100bn of which the US share was 14%.

That's just the internet, when you throw in the whole sex industry the figure could be anything, but this also relies on the internet.

That's actually what cracks me up about these nut-job ultra religious republicans. They scream and cry about Islamic countries and the conditions of people there, yet their actions would have the exact same outcome eventually. How do you think Saudi became Saudi?
