Forums - Nintendo - Convince me to buy a 3DS!

Damn oniyide do you seriously try to complain about anything that deals with Nintendo? Oh no!!! One account per system!!! That might be a deal breaker for you but that doesn't really even come up on most consumer's radar. Perhaps if you have kids but then you would probably just have another system for them. Basically, this is a non issue you are trying to blow out of proportion. The 3DS FC is fine and only one account isn't going to mean that many lost sales. Maybe from you but you were never a consumer anyways.

That makes no sense, why the hell would i accept having to buy more than one system for my kids? Wouldnt it be much easier to just to have more than one account so I dont have to drop another 100+ on it??? I dont feel emotionally attached to Ninty to just throw them my money.

PSN and LIVE has more than one account to be used. And they have been doing that for YEARS. Why in god's name would i expect a new system to be going backwards?? Would you want to go back to black and white TVs?? I doubt it.

Im complaining about Ninty, because they STILL dont get it, people dont like friend codes, period. Put aside your bias and honestly tell me that the alternative (what everyone else is doing) is not better.

FYI its not a deal breaker, im still getting one just like every other Ninty handheld and did complain about the VITA having the same problem, funny you didnt mention that

The simple question I want to ask why the hell would one want two accounts anyways? Are you downloading hardcore porn games onto your systems that you don't want your kids to see? I believe there are parental controls where you can block your kids loading mature games.  I don't share my systems with anyone so I don't know of any actual benefits of having two accounts.

Id personally wait for the redesign. Should be this holiday.

Im gonna get Metal Gear 3, Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart, and Resident Evil.

Lots of well rounded genres to choose from with the 3ds.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

i have no idea why you should get a Vita, but 3DS i awesome. opps ssry wrong thread lol.

i hope they make a Mario RPG. that's the only way i'd buy one. battery life 4-5 hours, based on the settings.

you'd be better off asking Spurgeonryan and spending some time in the official Nintendo news thread for most of your questions.

The main reason why you need more than one account on the 360 and PS3 is an overarching achievement system, so that others don't mess with your stats. Since the 3DS has nothing of that sort, it doesn't need multiple accounts.

The 3DS friend code is a twelve digit number that needs to be entered once. That's about the same amount of effort it takes to enter a username of somebody you want to add to your friends list on the 360 and PS3. Usernames can be shorter than twelve letters, but they can also be longer.

So I honestly tell you that Nintendo's system is better, because there's no need to constantly log out and log in when multiple people use the same system.

Plus the idea of multiple account is beneficial in consoles like the PS3 since those can be located in different regions, but that doesn't happen with Nintendo's console, it isn't region free.

Why would you want multiple accounts? Just set up a general account and share the console with your family/loved one/kids if you really have to (or are you scared your friends will see you playing with Nintendogs?). Downloadable software can be transferred easily between systems you own, so they aren't linked to the hardware you buy them anymore.

well, let me educate you because you are clearly a bit ignorant.  For my PS3, I have multiple accounts because it is region free. I have a US one a Euro, and a Japanese one.  I like to see what the other regions have to offer. I have no kids, but I do have other people that use it. My cousin and sisters might want to dabble and I have a seperate account that they use.  Now the 3DS isnt region free and that in of itself is its own problem, but whatcha gonna do???

Im more likely to remember someones name that a series of random numbers thrown together, so the friend codes will always suck to me. You think Ninty has a better system(what a surprise). I dont, we can just leave it at that

Yeah, for single-session systems (Vita vs 3DS), friend nicks definitely beat friend codes in terms of convenience, but it really isn't a big deal.

To OP:
If you need convincing to buy a 3DS currently, then you should just wait for a redesign with dual analog and head tracking or something......

In my opinion the only reason for the 3DS to have multiple accounts is to have differents friends between accounts.

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?
