Forums - Sony - Vita price cut “not on the radar at all” – Sony

The question about a Vita price cut should better be asked when the handheld is struggling (so in April), not before it is launched. Of course Sony is going to deny it and say that everything is going according to plan, because there's no data to suggest otherwise yet.

It's weird when Rol speaks sense...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

There probably will be a price cut in the next few months, but they are hardly going to say its on the cards at this stage, before it has even launched in the west! If they said they were planning a price cut, then sales would decrease for the western launch, and they do not want that.

Don't see a price cut personally, but I reckon Christmas will have a 8GB card + Uncharted + LBP or something bundle. Maybe even some Black Friday $200 bundle things but nothing permanent.

Impossible to predict though, maybe just one in Japan? *Shrug*.

Sigh....would they really admit it?

I know, the world is already ending, this just makes it creepier.

From what I've read the Vita cost $160 just for production while the 3ds costs $100. The 3ds should not have launched at $250. It should have been $200 and stayed so. Nintendo made a mistake, their price margins were off. Sony on the other hand is sitting at the right price. Consider wholesale and retailer profits along with advertisement costs both consoles are now set closer to the not lose money and not make money target. They will rely on development and software sales to create profit until manufacturing advances and other cuts are made. Even then a good portion of that will be deflected into a price drop somewhere in the next two years.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I hope they don't drop the price ...I rather see it fail ...you  cheapskates

I don't see a price cut coming at all anytime soon, but I do believe a 4GB memory card will be included with the Vita quite soon.

I imagine if you asked Reggie the same question when 3DS launched, he would have said the same.
