Forums - General - VGChartz, help critigue my model!

Yeah... I'd also say the only thing I'm really noticing is the chin protrusion... get that face a bit more aligned right and its pretty darn good.

Are you doing full body and if so will you do Jessica Alba for me?

You must show us your progress. You are very talented btw.

Is this done in Maya?

I'm using ZBrush right now.  Its a high-poly sculpting tool, its used to make super high poly models (This one has 9 million) and then you can use it to create a lower-poly mesh and export normal maps to make it seem high poly.  A lot of game studios use it.

I'm doing this because I'm meeting with an owner of a VFX company tomorrow.  I'm not sure if its an interview or not (its one of my friends uncles), but he looked at my resume and wanted me to come in, so I'm making this so I have something new/extra to show off.

Full body would take way too long for this project, but I'm really having fun doing this so I'll probably work on a new one after.  I'll put Jessica Alba on the short list just for you.

Good luck. I wish I were in your boots. Sounds like a fun career.

Very good. The only problem is that I could live in one of his nostrils.

Here goes... :p

- Forehead is too big, maybe raise his facial features a bit

- Mouth seems like it's scrunched up, too small and thin, should be wider as not to leave such a large empty space for the cheeks

- Nostrils look too big, and the area above them looks i bit too thin

- Chin is too pointy, women's chins are more of a "V" shape, while men's chins tend to be wider

I think it looks otherwise great - Great job :)

Couldn't help myself XD (Click on the images for a larger view)

Good luck!! :D

Miz, that looks like a pre-op Joan Rivers!!

Alright update.  I took a lot of people's advice and I think it looks a lot before because of it.  I've fleshed out a few more things, added some wrinkles/veins and added some skin texture.  Once again let me know.  Oh and I made it not white ha.

Holy shit Joka_, that's some mighty fine work!

Considering that character modelling is one of those things I can't do in Max, I can't really crit it!

What will you be using for the texture do you reckon? SSS shader or something else?

My immediate plan is to just finish the model, but I'll probably start out the texture by painting it on in ZBrush.  I don't have Maya or Max though, only Blender, and I don't want to figure out how to make an SSS shader in it :(

The one time I tried to make an SSS Shader in Maya it went horribly wrong lol, they look fucking beautiful when done correctly though.

I'm also thinking that I'm going to have to retopologize this when I'm done if I want to try and put it in Unreal (for shits n giggles),  and retopologizing is such a pain.
