Autodesk is almost a no duh. They own the Maya modeling suite which is used to make high end 3D models. (If you know what you are doing.) There use to be a student version where you could dl it for free. That was before Autodesk bought it. Before they did buy Maya their claim to fame was AutoCAD a very nice drafting program. (Used it in High School too bad it is a bit expensive.) I haven't really looked into them since I got out of school. I guess after buying Maya they continued to build up their middle ware. As I said they provide very nice software, but at a price. Wish I had a few thosand to spend, I get stuck with Blender, GIMP etc for my hobby. (not that there is anything wrong with them. I just like those programs.)

Man, I would sooo get Mega Man X - if only I were sure there would be way to transfer all my Wiiware to WiiU!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

"Do we really need yet another Mario game?"

Of course we do. We have a series that started in 1985 and as of now only consists of six games, if we are doing a generous count. Five games, if we only count home console releases.

Wow... I got to this late! xD

I agree. Even if the Mario series is one of the oldest out there it will always need new installations. The Mario series is one of the things Nintendo is known for, they would not drop it. Or they better not! ;)

It's nice to see you in this thread Rol! Why don't you come more often?

OTHER!!!! Dun, dun, dun!

That blue 3DS is quite nice! Probably gonna pick one up later this Year and I like that one.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012 Shipping Announcements

by Rainier on March 6, 2012 @ 1:43 p.m. PST

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

We will update this throughout the day when new announcements become available. Read more for details ...

Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy - Commonwealth Forces (PC)

Commonwealth Forces is the first module to Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy, a tactical WW2 ground warfare simulation title. It includes new, meticulously researched and historically accurate UK, Canadian and Polish Free Forces units and formations, dozens of new scenarios and QuickBattle maps and two in-depth campaigns.

This module also brings you new German formations, such as the "Waffen SS" and the Luftwaffe Field Divisions. Several variants of the iconic Churchill tank, the Cromwell, Stuart and Firefly are included along with many other new units. The Germans see the mighty King Tiger and the Jagdpanther in their arsenal among several other additions.

CM:BN - Commonwealth Forces is starting at $35 and can be purchased via digital download, mail delivery, or both. Downloads are available immediately, physical copies are shipped via mail within seven days from the US location (within 14 days from our EU location for European customers).

Ownership of the base game, Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy is required to play Commonwealth Forces.

Mass Effect 3 (PS3/X360/PC)

Mass Effect 3 thrusts players into an all-out galactic war to save mankind from an ancient alien race known only as the Reapers. Players assume the role of Commander Shepard, a war-torn veteran who's willing to do whatever it takes to eliminate this nearly unstoppable foe. With a team of elite soldiers, each player decides how to take back Earth, from the weapons and abilities utilized to the relationships he or she forges or breaks.

Mass Effect 3: From Ashes is a downloadable content pack that's included in the Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. In it, Commander Shepard discovers an ancient Prothean artifact that could turn the tide in the war to take back Earth. Players take on a dangerous mission during Earth's final hours to retrieve this critical piece of lost technology, and travel to a remote human colony to secure the artifact before the shadowy, pro-human organization, Cerberus, captures it for its own plans of domination. This optional content can be purchased on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and PC for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points.

Mass Effect 3 also features the Galaxy at War system, where players have the option to fight the galactic war on multiple fronts. The system includes the franchise debut of cooperative multiplayer, as well as two iOS-exclusive apps, the cover-based, third-person shooter, Mass Effect Infiltrator, and the Mass Effect 3 Datapad. Progress made in each of these components directly links back to the player's main campaign, helping Commander Shepard rally the forces of the galaxy to eliminate the Reaper threat.

The Mass Effect 3: Galaxy at War feature can be activated via the Online Pass code found in every new copy of Mass Effect 3.

Major League Baseball 2K12 (NDS/Wii/PSP/PS2/PS3/X360/PC)

Additionally, this year 2K Sports announces the all-new MLB Today Season Mode that lets players complete an entire season at the same pace as their favorite MLB team. Using the powerful MLB Today engine, fans can track and compare their stats and record to their real-life counterparts. Gamers can play through their team's real schedule, one game a day, and see if they can play their way to a World Series title.

Major League Baseball 2K12 once again features the $1 Million Perfect Game Challenge. Honing talents, acquiring crowd approval and showcasing unique skills are just the beginning steps to becoming a mega-star. Sims also need to navigate the town's proprietors by auditioning to prove their talents are worthy of the stage. Successful auditions lead to larger and grander performance venues, where Sims showcase their skills and ultimately fulfill their fantasies of achieving superstardom.

New areas are ready to explore in the town of Starlight Shores, where players can watch their Sims succeed or epically fail as they transition from one venue to the next. Level-5 joins Entertainment Software Association

Professor Layton developer joins US trade group alongside publishers Rubicon Organization and Little Orbit.

Level-5 is increasing its Western presence. The Entertainment Software Association today announced that the company has become a member of the United States trade organization.

Level-5, most famous for developing the Professor Layton series, was founded in 1998 in Japan. The company opened an office in the United States in 2010, in Santa Monica, California.

On top of Level-5, the ESA added startup digital publisher Rubicon Organization and Young Justice publisher Little Orbit to its ranks today. With the addition of the three new publishers, the ESA's total membership stands at 36.

Other companies that are part of the ESA include console makers like Nintendo of America, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Microsoft Corporation, as well as smaller firms like 38 Studios, Natsume, and 505 Games.

The ESA recently made headlines when California was forced to pay the group $950,000 over its failed Supreme Court battle. The ESA also made a splash in January when over the course of three weeks it proclaimed support for the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act before backing away from it.

A new, supposedly “epic” project from Warren Spector is being teased to members of the press. Given the choice of the word “epic”, and the fact that we’ve heard about it in the past, I think it’s safe to have a strong hunch this new project will be Epic Mickey 2. And as we have heard, we can expect it on the Wii U.

Sort of already announced. Just not sure about the Release date announcement.

Assassin’s Creed III Changes Weather, Changes Sides, Loses Towers

There's a big Assassin's Creed III feature in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, and having just thumbed through it, there's some interesting stuff not already revealed in there that's worth pointing out.

About trees. And Generals. And snow. And the great American frontier.

NICE NIGHT FOR A WALK

Previous games had a day/night cycle, but ACIII goes one step further and has a seasonal cycle. So during your travels the cities and countryside of the North American colonies will bleed from summer to winter, the latter bringing with it deep snow and complete changes to the animation and capabilities of the game's hero, Connor.

BIG COUNTRY

The game features both Boston and New York, both pivotal locations in the War of Independence, but in between them it has something a lot bigger: the "frontier". This stretch of wilderness is 1.5x the size of the entire game world in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, meaning there should be plenty of places to climb trees, shimmy up mountains and hunt wild animals (for furs and money, of course, and the better the kill, the bigger the reward).

THE THIRTY YEARS WAR

Like Ezio's tale, Connor's will run its course over decades. The game kicks off in 1753, with the colonies still happily a possession of the mother country, and will finish in 1783, the same year the Treaty of Paris brought an end to the War of Independence.

SUPPORTING CAST

Some of the real historical figures already confirmed to be making an appearance in ACIII are George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and, most interestingly, the equally heroic and tragic British-then-American General Charles Lee. The Game Informer story says "a large majority" of characters you meet in the game are actual historical figures, a first for the series.

TOWER DEFENCE

That awful "tower defence" mode from Revelations is gone. Phew.

BLACK, WHITE, GREY

Ubisoft says the game will be trying to avoid making the war, and its combatants, a simplistic good vs evil struggle. There'll be bad Americans and good Brits, and the motives of both the Assassin's and Templars will be shown to similarly murky.

You can read a whole lot more on the game in the latest issue of Game Informer, digital copy linked below.

See Zarx Planetside thread.

Ninendo at GDC has got to be the most boringesstest thing I have ever dealt with! What is even the point. Pax is coming up soon, but i do not remember much from last year other than JC7 was there.

JC7 was there? That lucky... anyway... have you seen the creepy conversation Jay is having with that "Clever"Bot?
