Wrong. FF7 is a long requested remake. Halo CE: emake is just another quick cashin. TBH, with the remakes and a brand new Halo trilogy, I doubt that the universe will ever have any chance of becomming the top dog of FPSs ever again. Just admit it MS, you are doing it for the money, and if the first remake sells you will remake the second one to...

.......Microsoft should be spending resources on creating new ips...not milking and damaging the brand of their current ones....seriously? We have Halo's 4-6 confirmed a Halo CE: remake and now Halo 2 might get remade? Games from last gen do NOT need to be remade at all. IMO if a game has aged horribly (FF7 and Metal Gear 1 and 2 im looking at you) then there's ground to remake it...

Obviously they're doing it for money--no corporation is a philanthropist.  You think if FF7 was remade, they'd be doing it 'for the fans'?  No, they'd be doing it for the dollars.

You and I agree that the franchise's days as the top-selling FPS in the industry are over.  Fans have been asking for a remake of the first Halo, with Live support, for a long time.  And if they're going to make that one, then that would make Halo 2 the only game in the franchise that has not appeared on the 360--that would just be stupid.

Also, it's not like Microsoft is the only company that's enjoyed putting more spit and polish on an old game this generation.  God of War Collection (two of them actually), Metroid Prime Trilogy, Splinter Cell HD Collection, Final Fantasy 3, Final Fantasy 4, Prince of Persia Trilogy, Mario All-Stars Wii, endless New Play Control games--this is only the first (and now possibly, second) time Microsoft has done this (with the exception of a couple XBLA N64 games).

Again, obviously it's for the money, but that doesn't make Microsoft more 'greedy and evil' than any other corporation.

We really don't know anything about them though. Ryse was shown in two E3's and yet doesn't have a release date. And the others I am guessing we may get to know them this TGS.

MS has gone complete nuts if they release Halo 2 HD. The concentration of Halo this generation is making me sick. Of course I have only purchased one.

Why don't they bring something like Age of Empires on the 360....that would have been pretty awesome.

They should have combined both Halo 1 & Halo 2 into one package. They probably would get more sales instead of selling them individually. I haven't played Halo 1 or 2, and I won't be buying the two remakes individually. I don't have enough cash for that. If they were combined, then I would consider it.

I totally agree with you. I just hate the attitude of companies when they try to make it out like they are actually doing it for the fans. Do you honestly think that anyone would be offended if they would simply admit that they are doing it because its a good financial decision? Hell no! IMO fans would love it even more, mainly because they would get treated like adults and not brainless idiots

Wow people are giving MS a hard time for doing a single remake and maybe hinting at a second? This is the first remake MS has ever done for a game besides some XBLA's. How many times have Sony and Nintendo especially Nintendo have done remakes before?
