Wrong. FF7 is a long requested remake. Halo CE: emake is just another quick cashin. TBH, with the remakes and a brand new Halo trilogy, I doubt that the universe will ever have any chance of becomming the top dog of FPSs ever again. Obviously they're doing it for money--no corporation is a philanthropist.  You think if FF7 was remade, they'd be doing it 'for the fans'?  No, they'd be doing it for the dollars.

You and I agree that the franchise's days as the top-selling FPS in the industry are over.  Fans have been asking for a remake of the first Halo, with Live support, for a long time.  And if they're going to make that one, then that would make Halo 2 the only game in the franchise that has not appeared on the 360--that would just be stupid.

Also, it's not like Microsoft is the only company that's enjoyed putting more spit and polish on an old game this generation.  God of War Collection (two of them actually), Metroid Prime Trilogy, Splinter Cell HD Collection, Final Fantasy 3, Final Fantasy 4, Prince of Persia Trilogy, Mario All-Stars Wii, endless New Play Control games--this is only the first (and now possibly, second) time Microsoft has done this (with the exception of a couple XBLA N64 games).

Again, obviously it's for the money, but that doesn't make Microsoft more 'greedy and evil' than any other corporation.


I totally agree with you. I just hate the attitude of companies when they try to make it out like they are actually doing it for the fans. Do you honestly think that anyone would be offended if they would simply admit that they are doing it because its a good financial decision? Hell no! IMO fans would love it even more, mainly because they would get treated like adults and not brainless idiots

A lot of those so called Sony remakes are just ports with upped resolution.

Whatever buddy, make it jusifable for Nintendo and Sony to do ports/remakes, but MS does it once and they get backlashed for it.  Who fault is it for not letting games be backward compatable on Ps3? Umm Sony and they charge you $60 for it every time they do a collection. Stop acting like Sony is gods child and MS is evil because both have the same exact intentions.

A lot of those so called Sony remakes are just ports with upped resolution.

I couldn't think of the name so I just said remake lol.

I hope they won't sell it full price, and imo halo 2 was really good

Sony plans on doing two more collections ICO&shadow along with PSP collection of God of war this year so a total of four.

It also makes sense to do a remake of CE because Halo:Reach ends right where CE starts. 

Like I said in a previous post MS has done some remakes on XBLA that cost $10 like Perfect dark.  

MS is only doing one game, but they are adding a lot new content like co-op over XBL, Kinect feature, Achievements, adding terminals, 7 Multiplayer maps and using the Reach engine so I think that warrents $40.

MS does have a reason behind this because fans of Halo have been asking for a remake for a long time so they are doing it as a fan service. Believe it or not there are a lot of people that own 360's that have never played Halo: CE and this would be the perfect time to jump on this. 

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against doing ports and remakes, but for people to say it's ok for Sony to do them and MS not to is obsurd.

It's good that some of you guys explain  the reality of the market.  It's been done before and it's gone be done again from all console maker and some third part.dev. Stop fanboyism please.I own all halo and i'll buy a remake day one. I own Sly collection, Super Mario all-star, and i will buy silent HD remake!!! Am I a sheep !?!
