U3 is likely to not have U2's advantages :

1.It won't have the same quality difference over U2,as U2 had over U1.

2.Based on point #1,it's likely to not get GOTY again,which helped U2 2 years ago.

3.U3 will face quite some competition from Arkham City.

And still,I believe U3 will outperform Battlefield 3,but it will be very close.

Once we get 10 weeks of data for both games,we'll decide if this club is a failure or not .

it was reported 2 months ago when both MW3 and battlefield trailers were coming out

EA said they were going against MW3 this year after building battlefield name last few years bith bad comapny

 

Modern Warface 2 budget was $200m = $40 million production + $160million marketing

Black Ops around the same

 

and in the last 2 years prices have also risen through inflation and Activision would again be throwing alot of money at marketing MW3

 

so EA would have to spend that much to even contend against MW3,$50 is way too low.it would atleast have to be upwards of $100million

I don't think Uncharted's preorders are directly related to sales performance. What were Uncharted 2's preorder numbers?

BF: BC2 combined = 5.32

Uncharted 2 = 4.72

So if Uncharted 3 sales increase over Uncharted 2 and Battlefield stays relatively flat, it has a chance! (didn't say it was a big chance, lol)

EA's CEO just clarified on their fiscal call that he meant CoD + Battlefield 3 combined would be over $100 million, not that Battlefield 3 would.

where in that article did he do that?

and how can he speak for activision?

pachter was the one who laid the $50million marketing quote and he is just an analsyt.

 

EA CEO mentioned there would "a couple hundred million dollars" spent by both activision and EA

Things arent looking too well for U3 in america


Uncharted 2 had 188k preorders total in the U.S. And look where it is now. And these preorders have proven to be inaccuarte many times so I don't know why your bringing the preorders up.

he is bringing them up because we are on vgcharts and the preorders are given by vgchartz. Holy crap this is getting ridiculous. The preorders are far more often accurate than innaccurate, and if you don't want data from this website to be posted then leave this website. Considering multiple websites, not just vgchartz are saying battlefield 3's preorders are tracking at the same pace at black ops, and all websites have uncharted 3 very low on their preorder sales charts, I am not part of the club. Battlefield 3 (360) will outsell uncharted 3 at least for the first 10 weeks.
