Americas preorders as of 6th Aug :

3 Battlefield 3 X360 12 37,680 397,490
12 Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3 13 9,057 164,470

Things arent looking too well for U3 in america

Uncharted 2 had 188k preorders total in the U.S. And look where it is now
. And these preorders have proven to be inaccuarte many times so I don't know why your bringing the preorders up.

I know that.I meant that it wasn't looking too well preorder-wise compared to B3.

Regarding the accuracy of the preorder chart, keep such discussions out of the thread please. It's not the place and time.

where in that article did he do that?

and how can he speak for activision?

pachter was the one who laid the $50million marketing quote and he is just an analsyt.

EA CEO mentioned there would "a couple hundred million dollars" spent by both activision and EA

that statement was from a neogaf thread.

I am out, i reckon Uncharted 3 might sell 5 million LTD,
Battlefield 3(Xbox 360) could very well do 6 million LTD.

As for the first 10 weeks, Battlefield 3 definatly going to be ahead i reckon.

This is just dumb. First off Uncharted 1 and 2 both sold very well, yes. Bad Company 1 and 2 also sold well on 360. However this is Battlefield 3, not Bad Company. Much bigger name, and with the advertising they will be doing, it has a chance to break 5 mil on 360, maybe even 6. Uncharted 1 and 2 are amazing game which can also sale 5 mil. Instead of making 2 games that are completely different genres a comparison, how about doing a 3rd person shooter (Uncharted) vs a another 3rd person shooter (Gears of War). That is a better comparison. It's why you see Battlerfield 3 vs ModernWarfare 3. Because they are under the same genre. Regardless, Battlefield 3 will be the 3rd most sold game of the year on 360, and the 2nd most sold multiplatform game.

Why would I make a U3 vs GoW3 thread, when that has been made over and over again on all gaming forums? And it's pretty obvious that GoW3 will outsell U3,it's pointless to make a thread about it.

I made this thread because these 2 games are releasing close to eachother, and both have chances to outsell the counterpart.

And besides GoW3,there is no other 3rd person shooter that can beat/come close to U3 that's being released anytime soon.I don't see a problem in the difference of genres, since Uncharted has proven that it can outsell the majority of FPS's.

Uncharted 3 will be a fantastic game no doubt.

But its not gonna outsell Battlefield 3

EA would atleast need a $100miilion to even contest COD though

look at what there are going against

COD - brand name,$150miilion upwards marketing campaign

I'm in. In fact, I say it has a chance of outselling both the PS3 and 360 versions combined. Uncharted 3, all the way!

I strongly doubt it,have you seen the preorders?

I don't think Uncharted's preorders are directly related to sales performance. What were Uncharted 2's preorder numbers?

BF: BC2 combined = 5.32

Uncharted 2 = 4.72

So if Uncharted 3 sales increase over Uncharted 2 and Battlefield stays relatively flat, it has a chance! (didn't say it was a big chance, lol)

Battlefield will grow a lot, this isn't Bad Company...this is a full main game Battlefield release.

Of which none of the previous main games have released on this system, unless you count BF2: Modern Combat which did terrible. The fanbase of Battlefield main games hasn't had a chance to establish itself this generation on consoles, so we really have no idea if it will grow or not. With the stiff competition this year, it may even decline.

First Week: Battlefield 3 definitely. Bad Company had a pretty high first week. Battlefield 3's FW will likely be higher due to more pre-orders

First 10 weeks: Depends.

It all depends on the quality of the games. Will Battlefield be the COD killer that EA Wants? or will casuals just see it as another Medal of Honor? Will Uncharted 3's multiplayer be the CoD-killer that Naughty Dog wants? Will it take the industry by storm like Uncharted 2 did? These unknowns will play a large factor in which has a higher first 10 weeks.

I guess Battlefield 3 because it will have a rather large opening & hype.

Lifetime: Most likely Uncharted 3. Past Battlefields have had poor legs.

Preorders alone tell us that Battlefield 3 is the most anticipated release yet............and that PS3 gamers just dont care about their exclusives anymore.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
