This is just dumb. First off Uncharted 1 and 2 both sold very well, yes. Bad Company 1 and 2 also sold well on 360. However this is Battlefield 3, not Bad Company. Much bigger name, and with the advertising they will be doing, it has a chance to break 5 mil on 360, maybe even 6. Uncharted 1 and 2 are amazing game which can also sale 5 mil. Instead of making 2 games that are completely different genres a comparison, how about doing a 3rd person shooter (Uncharted) vs a another 3rd person shooter (Gears of War). That is a better comparison. It's why you see Battlerfield 3 vs ModernWarfare 3. Because they are under the same genre. Regardless, Battlefield 3 will be the 3rd most sold game of the year on 360, and the 2nd most sold multiplatform game.

Why would I make a U3 vs GoW3 thread, when that has been made over and over again on all gaming forums? And it's pretty obvious that GoW3 will outsell U3,it's pointless to make a thread about it.

I made this thread because these 2 games are releasing close to eachother, and both have chances to outsell the counterpart.

And besides GoW3,there is no other 3rd person shooter that can beat/come close to U3 that's being released anytime soon.I don't see a problem in the difference of genres, since Uncharted has proven that it can outsell the majority of FPS's.

Battlefield 3 will outsell uncharted 3 simple as that.  No matter which way you look at it.  Your comparison is just awful.  You chose two different consoles, two different genres, and you chose a multiplatform game vs an exclusive. Lets put it this way,  a lot of ppl including myself has multiple consoles and will have to make the choice on which system to buy BF3 on.  I believe the numbers will look something like this, 6 mil on 360, and 3.5 mil on PS3.  But lets say Uncharted 3 was muiltiplatform,  The numbers would then be split.  And in that case it would look like this prob, 4 mil on PS3, and 2 mil on 360.  If you are going to make comparisons, do it in a fair way. And the "Club" thing makes it sound even more dumb btw

Your prediction looks pretty lousy for the PS3 version of BF3. Look at BF bad company 2. The PS3 version and the 360 version are pretty close together are pretty close together.

I'm not saying my prediction is going to come true.  And yes I believe ps3 version of battlefield 3 cld hit 5mil as well.  My point is, this comparison is one of the worse ive seen.  It's like comaring Final Fantasy and call of duty.  Just doesnt make any since at all.  My full prediction, Battlefield 3 willsell at least 12 million total between all three platforms, although PC won't be tracked seeing as how digital downloads work.  PS3 and 360 alone cane get 10 mil combined, and BF3 will be a huge PC game so yeah.

Ok you've already stated that you think it's dumb, don't have to repeat it.This is not really a comparison thread,it's called a club, because I made it for fun,so chill a bit.

I think you might want to remove me from the in list. Unless Battlefield 3 gets a really bad meta it's not gonna happen.

Sorry mate, had the impression that youre pro uncharted 3 ,done.

First Week: Battlefield 3 definitely. Bad Company had a pretty high first week. Battlefield 3's FW will likely be higher due to more pre-orders

First 10 weeks: Depends.

It all depends on the quality of the games. Will Battlefield be the COD killer that EA Wants? or will casuals just see it as another Medal of Honor? Will Uncharted 3's multiplayer be the CoD-killer that Naughty Dog wants? Will it take the industry by storm like Uncharted 2 did? These unknowns will play a large factor in which has a higher first 10 weeks.

I guess Battlefield 3 because it will have a rather large opening & hype.

Lifetime: Most likely Uncharted 3. Past Battlefields have had poor legs.

Ditto. U3 will take it in the end.

So you also think that for the 10 first weeks,Battlefield 3 will take it?

PS3 gamers just dont care about their exclusives anymore.

You really aren't making sense with this.

Am I? Funny thing is this unpleasant truth is on this site for all to see.

Compare LBP 1 to LBP 2

Resistance 1 to Resistance 2

Socom 4 to the previous releases

Im afraid Motorstorm is by far the most embarassing example. I dare you to see Apocalypse vs the Original.

With Uncharted being the sole exception.....PS3 gamers are showing more and more disinterest in their own exclusives.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

What about LBP2? The game isn't anywhere near finished selling (although the end result may be a tad lower than the original). Still, you can spin anything to support an argument, while ignoring the situation in it's entirety. Explain God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, HEAVY RAIN, Killzone 3, inFAMOUS 2. Seems for every example you have, I had one to counter it. Therefore, my sentiments remain.

If every 360 exclusive sold like Gears of War or Halo, I could see how you would get on PS3 exclusives. However, do Xbox fans not buy exclusives because Alan Wake sold nowhere near as good as predictions and expectations? You'd have to have a narrow mind about such things to believe that to be the case.

Also Theres ratchet and clank Tools of destruction vs Crack in Time.......also lower

lbp2 is tracking lower trhen part 1......all spin aside. Notice ALL my examples had more then 1 release on the PS3.

GOW3 previous release is on PS2. When GOW4 comes out id be happy to bet that ps3 gamers wont care as much. GT5 previous release is on PS2....thus also not a proper counter. When GT6 comes out (IF.....and thats a big IF) on PS3.....id also wager it would sell less. Heavy Rain is a new IP.....no sequel on ps3. Nice try.

Killzone 3 and Infamous 2 are also tracking below their predessors. Slightly......but you'd expect the sales or sequels to rise.....not be on par/lower.

This isnt a 360 discussion. I simply made a point with evidence for all to see that PS3 exclusive sequels sell less then the predessor PS3 release. Its not like im offending you directly......im merely pointing out a fact.

So now the argument changes. First you say "PS3 fans don't care about the exclusives anymore" and now it's "they don't care about sequels". Interesting. Killzone 3 is actually tracking ahead of Killzone 2 in the same time frame, & Uncharted 2 already outsold Uncharted 1. inFAMOUS 2 just came out a few months ago and is tracking right with it's predecessor (which in fact, could go on to outsell it). All complimentary examples.

Outside of the semantics, your comment was baseless. Plain and simple. I only used the 360 as an example (whether the discussion is about it or not) because in that context, it made sense. It could only have struck a nerve if there's some truth to it. For instance, Fable III didn't outsell Fable II. Crackdown II sold less than it's predecessor. Does that mean people care less for 360 exclusives? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Remember that.

Never did.....my examples were all exclusives with a previous release on PS3. They are still exclusives but clearly you saw me ONLY referring to sequels under performing to a previous PS3 release.

I just checked the 10 week totals of KZ2 and KZ3.....3 is tracking below. Infamous 2 is tracking slightly below part 1 in the same 9 week timeframe. But again....its not encouraging to see sequel sales tracking slightly lower when they should be higher if these exclusives are truly "worth buying". Nice try.

And thanks for confirming my origional sentiment that Uncharted 2 was the sole exception. All though Uncharted 3 might just track lower, well see.

I matched you point for point here. Sequel exclusives just underwhelm in sales.

And your right, 360 users dont care about non Halo/Gears/Forza exclusives. But that was a given. The truth that ps3 gamers dont care about their exclusives (with ps3 sequels) is still a cleverly concealed truth.

There is no "cleverly concealed truth" anywhere, as sequels often perform worse on any given platform (which is what any reasonable person would tell you). I'm just telling you it isn't tailored to the PS3 solely and have given examples to not only compliment the statement, but show that it isn't always a rule either - there are exceptions in any case. Take it or leave it, but that is what it is.

I knew it isn't tailored to just PS3, merely pointing it out. We had this discussion before but I am not sure what other forums you frequent but I see stuff where the majority sentiment is that PS3 exclusives just fly off the shelves and the 360 ones gather dust. Sorry again I am seeing that this place is far more reasonable to talk to.

Sorry but your examples all tracked lower then the predecessor and the others were new IPs or had a predessor on PS2, thus disqualifying that from my point....jus saying, no offence.

Think were done here, until next time :)

EDIT: Didnt see the preorder comparisons when I mentioned Uncharted 3. It does look to track higher then 2. Still the exception to the rule. But dont make it seem like one slip like that can suddenly change the sales of all those games I mentioned :P
