The previous price cut from Sony happened in Gamescom... Microsoft between E3 and Gamescom.

Oh I definitely agree. The YOY difference is getting abysmal. There is certainly also a sense of disinterest in the video game consoles as well as handhelds. Something serious needs to happen and Im sure the big 3 are aware. I think Sony and MS however sit in a better position than Nint since they already issued a price cut.

OT: PS3 is doing really well especially with the huge in increase in japan. PSP is also doing solid as well. I wonder if the new model PS3 will outsell the 360 here in america when it first comes out. :)
Well, PS3 looks like it's going to the top. Maybe next week. It will be interesting to watch what a price cut will do. Especially if x360 follow suit.

From my understanding the new model doesn't have anything great in it (no new features or look). I think that the torne bundle in Japan is what helped it, not the new model in and of itself. Just my opinion.

Haha I wonder how many pounds these fit games have actually shed? Then we could calculate the price per pound (Yup I went that far).
The new model was more energy efficient, and had a larger Hard Drive. That's about it. As you said, Torne
