Forums - Gaming - Ladies and gents I feel we have finally come full circle (Nintendo hate)

I love the idea of the system, think it has great potential too.

The reveal of it was a bit lacking though,.

Anyway while the concept was good, so was Wii's and the Wii is my least favourite system ever right next to the gamecube, I still do not have my lightsaber game and my best game on Wii is currently DKCR, a game where the motion controls definetely didn't make it fun (though they added to the experience).

The Wii had sooo much potential and SMG1/2 is the only game with motion on Wii that I think actually uleashed some of it because it was soo much fun using it.....there may be more but after being disappointed by many Wii gaems I have rented I am not daring to try any more till Xenoblade arrives in its glory this year. Thankfully Skyward Sword is coming to show us all of the WIi's potential in one go judging from E3 stuff I have read now.

Apart from even Wii, Motion controls in general have been a disappointment so far and its the reason why the PS MOVE isn't being bought by me now, and maybe never if things go as they are going with its games library. Kinect.....can't comment.

WiiU skepticism and hate comes from many people who are coming out of the collosal disappointment that was the Wii. From others of course its to hate nintendo etc etc....you should use it as a way to ban fanboys actually, the people hating on it just cus its being made by ninty are easy to pick out of the crowd. From others like NJ5, I do not know I think he's just angry Ninty isn't going forward on his "vision" of their future.

I feel like Nintendo is starting to revert back to its hardcore focus again, so that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I think their game library will improve (at least in the eyes of the core) and third party support be be much improved from Wii, but I see Nintendo facing a sales decline as a result of moving away from the mass market and blue ocean approach. They will be fine though. It will be like an NES to Super NES decline. In the end, most people won't notice it because of the quality library.

i hope nintendo leaves the hardcore stuff to the thrid parties and continues focusing on their wii games approach, if that doensnt appease the "core" than nintendo really should just stop giving a shit.

Nintendo shows a console with a bat-shit insane design that is offering something we've already had for years and they are already applying constraints to that very console. They aren't offering anything new to the people who own any of the current consoles, we haven't seen a game that will blow us away visually, we haven't seen the console play a game well in terms of controller input and everything coming out about it in regards to it only makes it's concept seem much more constricted than it should be (one Wii-U controller per console, dodging questions relating to their online implementation, no Gamecube BC, 3DS pads instead of actual sticks, D-Pad under the 3DS pad).

It also doesn't help that they didn't explain their approach very well at their conference and despite the whole 'we want the hardcores' thing they've suddenly decided to jump on, all we got from their conference was a shuriken throwing game, some ports, some Mii's, some lame golf thing and another Mario game.

Nintendo showed me nothing that impressed me, all they've shown is that they took the 3DS approach and have decided that the easiest way to come up with a new console is to think of an old gimmick and bring it back as a new innovation, while also offering nothing good to show off that gimmick. I also can't rely on them to support their own crazy concepts, it's not like they did a great job with it on the Wii outside of Wii Sports. They went for the shock approach again and I don't think it will work this time.

It could all change by next year, they might take some criticisms and work on them, but I've seen what Nintendo did with the Wii, they rarely ever listen and if they don't listen, then I'm not interested. I'm not going to fall for their bullshit a second time.

Now watch as this thread will be filled with Nintendo fans agreeing with you, instantly going into defence mode over a console they know barely anything about and continue to support a company that barely releases any games for their current system and has actually allowed Tiger Woods PGA Tour and a Street Fighter port to be the best releases of the year for their systems. I'd recommend approaching the Wii-U with caution, because I think Nintendo have been a bit lost as of recently and you guys are going to be the ones to suffer in the end.

Just an addition, I laughed at the 'jealousy' claims, jealous of what? That I can actually find a use for my system this year by playing dozens of amazing games? That the future of my system isn't a hanging by a thread called Skyward Sword? That I actually have options in the things I want to do with my system outside of leaving it in a dusty cupboard or playing NSMB Wii for the 50th time? Don't be silly, people have a reason to be critical of Nintendo and their approach to a new console and that is because they have been an extremely sub par console publisher as of recently.

Seriously, will you marry me?

OT: Until i see a strong online structure, good *and by good i mean real, not just ports* third party support, and 5 new good first party ip, im going to stay hating. And its not nintendo, rather thier desicions.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

So let me ask what's the difference between "real" 360 and PS3 third party ports (from the superior PC builds) and the ports to the WiiU? Sorry that a few launch games for the WiiU will already be released on other consoles... it's like big deal once the console releases it won't get late ports from that point on... and the fact it still has exclusive content which everyone seems to ignore... seems a bit unreasonable to ask for anything more than the biggest HD console games at launch and then constant releases with them from there on out.

Looks to me like you answered your own question...

I don't see why any PS3/360 owner should be excited for those Wii U games, when they will have released already on the PS3/360 a while before. Go along with the fact that the games aren't even running on Wii U yet, and it was actual PS3/360 footage they were showing.

If Nintendo showed actual new games, exclusively for the Wii U, that wouldn't have been played by Millions of people before... Then I'm sure people would be excited and not sceptical of Wii U. When all you show is footage from another console, during your underwhelming reveal for your new console, people will be like "Wtf?". It's natural. It's not this "hate" that certain people like to throw about a whole lot in the Nintendo forums. The only person who actually seems to have these "hate" problems in this thread, is you, hating the fact that Nintendo screwed up the Wii U reveal and didn't automatically get everyone on board, like they planned to.

Would also like to say I agree with everything badgenome said, and Doobie_wop also had a great, great post. /tips hat

Everything that Nintendo does stinks.

Wii U rhymes with P U. This verifies the above statement.

I never have liked Nintendo and will probably never. Don't like their IPs and feel they are more focused on the Casual gamers. Yeah they have mario and Zelda but in 'my' opionion they just get more and more boring for every generation. This new console wont change my way of seeing Nintendo as i don't like the new control. Yes it's innovating but why would i want to look at a litte screen when i can watch on my big tv?
