The game is doing wonderful in sales and more than over what Capcom wanted. I am sure you should be well aware of this and the title of this thread is sad on your part.

If the game was initially priced at $29.99 and the initial projections were 620K, then the price increase to $50 should change those projections because they are making more money off of it.

Say they are making $17 now as opposed to $10 before. That certainly increases their revenue.

Let's estimate that the first 100K sold at the lower price, so they made $1 million revenue. The remaining 450K have sold at the higher price, therefore making $7,650,000 in revenue for a total of $8,650,000. Based on initial projections (620K * $10) they were anticipating revenue of $6.2 million.

Granted, these are just hypothetical numbers, but I would guess that it has already exceeded it's goals.

No, it performs under my expectations, and be true to yourself, aren't you surprised that it sells fewer copies than RE4? Maybe my expectations to this title were to high, that's why I feel it's underperforming. But that is really the feeling I got.

Well by your logic I would be disapointed in SMG sales, I expected 1 mil in America launch week 500k in japan and in Europe... but that does not mean the sales are bad... I just had my hopes too high. I did not understand the Wii userbase. If it was the 360 base then SMG would be screwed, but the Wii promotes sexy legs for all games that are good enough to earn Word of Mouth advertising.

I may very well pick this game up. I think it will sell over a million. From what I gathered, developing games for the Wii is much easier than the 360 and the PS3, so they need to sell less copies to make a profit.

I am a fan of the RE series, I hope they do well.

It was never priced at $29.99. That's RE 4 for the wii price. RE:UC has always been $49.

If it was $29.99 I would probably have picked it up already. At $49 I probably will not as I am not into rail shooters... if it was more like RE4, then maybe I would.

Increasing price means decreasing sales. Which means more profit is a matter of supply and demand...

But it's still selling quite well thanks to a large opening. It is suprising that it's sales are dropping the extent that they are despite it being the Christmas season, but As it is a good game it should still sell well throughout the year.

And as for the rail shooter argument. Part of the reason those normally sell poorly is because you have to get it with the gun. I think the Wii will make rail shooters a viable commercially successfull genre.

What?  I don't remember that bet.  Well anyway it sounds like one I never would have accepted anyway haha.  I didn't expect this to explode in sales.  Just to do well lifetime.  I still say it hits 1 million at some point.
