Forums - Sony - PSP2 specs leaked out? HOLY DAMN!

Sound expansive both for consumers and for developers...I wonder what kind of games will come out for it, it is tommorrow the official presentation, ins't it?

Downgraded PS3 and X360 games, like PSP got downgraded 128 bit ports.

And maybe some good developers will put the touchscreen and trackpad for good use and we can see some more unique games than the PSP.

If true, Sony just lost as it will be priced well over $300-$400.

Most importantly: With specs like that how much are the games going to cost? It's the recurring fees that hurt more. Secondly: If Sony sells this at a loss and charges under $300 then they could actually pull this off but that would be taking a huge risk with all the money they lost with that same stategy they used with the PS3.

Formerly known as LuStaysTru but that was back when I still knew my password.

Again Sony did what they could to differentiate themselves from the competition delivering a high-tech handheld with lots of possibilities - if people perceive it's value and Sony releases the right games, people won't be bothered by the price. Look at Apple damn it.

For those who said "Sony didn't learn anything" - and how would they learn in your opinion? Releasing a mildly stronger but cheaper console months after the 3DS? What's the chance of such device attract any atention by any means?

That's what Nintendo tried with the Gamecube - moderately stronger, $199 - and it died a screaming death (even though I love it <3)

At leas they made money of the GC from day one. How did the PSP differentiate itself from a regular console? What did it do different to improve on gameing other than graphics? I do not know all about it so tell me what that was?

They didnt :P

I find this hard to believe. Quad-core? And where's the siurce of these specs anyway?

If this is true, which is highly unlikely, Sony will once again be pricing themselves out of the market. /If you honestly reckon you could get this for under $300, or mabe even $400, for that mater, then you've another thing coming.

And I doubt many, even core Sony fanboys, will pay north of $400 for a new handheld, especailly when there's a 3D one just around the corner...

Meh, we'll see tommorow. But file this under "snowball's chance" for now

I think of many those might be even cheaper than 3DS games, since a system this powerfull can handle a port from the HD consoles with some minor downgrade?

Guys. Wait 1 more day and let Sony reveal the system.

Then you can fight a better fight with something to back up your claims.

This. One more day

...

PSPGo2. I'm calling it

I doubt any price point would be announced tomorrow, at least for the Western markets. I'm guessing we'll see the price point at E3 or even afterwards. I'm definitely seeing a launch around November for the different markets.

As for these specs, its only a day away guys. After all the misinformation and lack of clarity that the 3DS saw before its official reveals, well it'd be better for everyone if we knew the details before we started all this hubub.
