Yes it did, the console was much more expensive than DS at launch. And that played a major role on sales.

Yes, but I mean the PSP didn't have anymore support than the DS had is all I'm saying.  Well I guess it did have better efforts, but those came from Capcom and Capcom struck gold with one of them and Capcom tries things with all consoles.

yeah the price always matter but it wasn't that much difference at start

when games stopped after piracy it just dropped dead.i mean just look at the sales figures

Both had a good lineup but PSP was more hyped up just because Playstation was big then and PSP for the first time brought the big fanchises of console on portable,they were few but people were excited

now DS had even bigger titles like pokemon,mario,that usually push sales and consistenly sell well but just because they were on a handheld and people had experienced it before,it didn't get hyped up but from a sales perspective,yeah the lineup was equal or actually better from a handheld point of view on DS

and even the MH came abit late

PSP was very good platform the first year competitiON but 2nd year the pircay started spreading.PSP sold well the 2nd year too but from then on it went down

I really can't think of anything right now but if they can come up with an innovation that none of us saw coming, which is what NIntendo did with the DS, Wii and now 3DS, then that just might do it. Now lemme think of what 'that' would be if I worked for Sony. BTW, I like ur vids and that flexible screen might be a nice idea!

You honestly think just that would BLOW THE 3DS AWAY? Cuz I think the OP wanted us to mention things dat would blow the 3DS away or at least be as competitive.

i think he meant that that will help it receive good games which will hence help sales

its like what you said Ninty did innovation with DS so it helped them bring new kinds of games

that won't happen

it happens in the console space cause people still buy games but won't in the handheld section as whichever is pirated sell more but it loses game support too and then on sales decline of HW too

Nintendo owns the Handheld market but the following would help:

1)Low price.

2)Attention grabbing feature(3DS = 3D or Wii = Motion controls)

3)New games(not the same Sony franchises but some new one's)(Think Wii Fit, Wii Sports)
