Forums - Gaming Discussion - What does PSP2 need to compete against 3DS?

Nintendo surprised everyone at E3 2010 with the great glassless 3DS system.Everyone was going gaga over it.

So ninty unveiled their follow-up and wow'd everyone but what about its chief competitor,PSP and what about its follow-up

Well, lately the rumour mill has started heating up about PSP2.Lots of rumours have been circulating around what PSP2 will be from PSPhone to PSTablet and other things.

So what will be features that will blow the competition away

here is the features that i think will blow away the competition:

OLED

ROLLABLE SCREEN

Interact-able 3D like Holograghics

This isn't exactly what i have in mind but like it

What features do you want in PSP2 and think will help it compete against the competition

Around the Network

What does it need?

1. Great games from the start

2. Be affordable in comparison to the 3DS.

3. Monster Hunter.

One thing I think would be awesome on a PSP. Dual Analogues, and online capabilities like you can see on consoles.

Imagine how popular a Call of Duty game would be on the PSP if you could play Online...

games and price is a standard so i am not talking about those too

i am talking about features

dual analogues is a must and we know it will be there so no point discusing it

always online yeah, that would be great

dual analogues. I can't believe the psp doesn't have them. Recently got a psp and that is all I want from the psp 2. if they dont have them its a no buy for me

A miracle.

Games and price may be a "standard" but Sony hasn't shown any real dedication to it.

To beat the 3DS they need to focus on games for everyone. Not just the "hardcore" crowd. While CoD is played by hardcore and casuals alike, it doesn't attract the girls, adults, and little kids. Without focusing on attracting everyone the PSP has no chance to beat the 3DS regardless of features that it has.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

Ok ok I'll think.....

Possible Innovations:

- Robust online gaming in a big way.......I don't know if 3DS will have PS360 quality online gaming....but if they can make PSP2 have that its a good thing.

- Touch screen on the back can be interesting....something different, could lead to new gameplay positibilities

Now any more innovations will result in it being way too expensive.
