Well, he still expects the PS3 to finish "comfortably ahead" of the 360... So clearly not fully to his senses.

more like 90% same library. PS3 leads 360 in regards to exclusive graphics......well 360 leads ps3 in most multiplats.........again around 90% of the library. Whats better....having a better 10% or a better 90% library? That was a rhetorical question :) Also I dont see an issue with 360/pc titles......they are on 360 and NOT on ps3. 360 gets the edge PS3 is still priced higher than both the Wii and the 360: PS3 has a couple more price cuts up its sleeve. (and MS doesnt......lol cmon ) PS3 may close down the gap on Wii to around 30m when the console wars are at the end. Overtaking the Wii is more than likely not going to happen. PS3 should over take the 360 in 2011 and finish second comfortably ahead of the third placed 360.
First its funny that people like you actually care about whos last place.......makes you think that you all truly care about sales in order to validate your opinion. People have been saying ps3 would overtake 360 since 2007.......even in 2010. I guess year after year of failed predictions leads you to try yet again with a 2011 prediction lol lastly......your name is wrong. You cant beat what isnt last place. |

You're like the Miss Cleo of sales predictions. Let's keep throwing years out and then if it happens we can raise our glasses high and say we knew it was coming, we were just "slightly off"
Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, Sony needs this slice of humble pie so they don't make the same mistakes they did at the start of this generation? The PS3 doesn't deserve to be ahead of the 360. Why?

- Their exclusive titles aren't system sellers. Anyone who believed GT5 was going to make a huge difference in hardware sales was smoking a pipe. Racing games don't push systems. Neither do 99 percent of other games.
Do you know what does?
Hardware price.
And do you know who has the edge? Wii 360. Just like they always have.
So it's not some robust science that will carry you to the promised land, to make you stop these godawful prediction threads, and to see the truth
It's common sense, and the amazing thing is that Microsoft still makes more money than Sony because they charge for their online service and get away with it. Why? Because the sales tag at Wallmart doesn't say 199.99 Xbox live charges DLC. Yes, in the longrun there is a fair chance that you will pay more for your Xbox than for your PS3. But will you notice it? No. Sony is still stuck in this archaeic viewpoint where they feel they need to earn their money through hardware and hardware alone. And that's really hurt them in the longrun.
Maybe next generation, Sony will release a system a) on time, b) at an affordable price point c) with the right exclusives, and d) with the right marketing
But that's not until they stop doing what the OP is : living in the past.

Sony does not kill hardware, they will continue selling it after its succesor is out.
And it is awesome hardware, thats why it can climb to #1
