You're like the Miss Cleo of sales predictions. Let's keep throwing years out and then if it happens we can raise our glasses high and say we knew it was coming, we were just "slightly off"
Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, Sony needs this slice of humble pie so they don't make the same mistakes they did at the start of this generation? The PS3 doesn't deserve to be ahead of the 360. Why?
Let's see
- Their exclusive titles aren't system sellers. Anyone who believed GT5 was going to make a huge difference in hardware sales was smoking a pipe. Racing games don't push systems. Neither do 99 percent of other games.
Do you know what does?
Hardware price.
And do you know who has the edge? Wii 360. Just like they always have.
So it's not some robust science that will carry you to the promised land, to make you stop these godawful prediction threads, and to see the truth
It's common sense, and the amazing thing is that Microsoft still makes more money than Sony because they charge for their online service and get away with it. Why? Because the sales tag at Wallmart doesn't say 199.99 Xbox live charges DLC. Yes, in the longrun there is a fair chance that you will pay more for your Xbox than for your PS3. But will you notice it? No. Sony is still stuck in this archaeic viewpoint where they feel they need to earn their money through hardware and hardware alone. And that's really hurt them in the longrun.
Maybe next generation, Sony will release a system a) on time, b) at an affordable price point c) with the right exclusives, and d) with the right marketing
But that's not until they stop doing what the OP is : living in the past.
