Naughty Dog had a listing recently where 360 experience was required.....its just something game devs do.

This.

Was about to say the same thing.

It fuckin says "OR" meaning you must have experience with working on a PS3 or X360 aka HD Consoles.

Let's not jump to conclusions until Jan 2011

You mean Jan 2013?

And I for one, Think it can

If Crysis2 and Gear of War3 graphics can run on 360 than I highly doubt this game wont be achievable also

face it, why alienate 2 million other potential customers just because of some fanboy who obviously thinks about himself rather than the company(nomura)....fire him and  hire Sakaguchi again

Crysis 2 and Gears of War 3 are going to be very linear experiences, much like FFXIII was. Final Fantasy Versus XIII... Isn't.

World Map.
Towns.
Airship travelling.
Oceans.
Cloud forming (Or whatever it's supposed to be)
Seamless transition between traveling and fighting.
Not Linear.
Actually looks better than FFXIII did, despite being non-linear.

Honestly, look at it.

It looks better than FFXIII, it's a far bigger game than FFXIII, and it's open world, which FFXIII wasn't.

This game if released on 360, would probably be 4/5... Maybe 6 Discs. There is just THAT MUCH content.

Could it run on the 360? Yeah. Sure. But it will be a compressed, inferior version like FFXIII was, and it would be on a LOT of discs...

Looks just like FFXIII to me.

Also stop exaggerating so much. Everything from chapter 11 til the end of FXIII fitted on one disc. That's basically half the game (25 hours not even counting the side quests). And yes that's the non-linear part.
3 DVDs would be a good bet. Maaaaaybe 4.

We know that it was technically inferior because they were starting too late with the port and didn't have the time to do a proper job.

Maybe they're already porting Versus right now. If they do, we should see a better result this time around.

I disagree.

I'm not exaggerating anything at all really. And no, Gran Pulse isn't half of the game. And it's not even really that much of a big area... The area's it spans off onto are Linear as hell too... And the side quests again, aren't that big. An enemy spawns somewhere and you have to go kill it. Wooooo! That's making the game so much bigger!!! No.

Final Fantasy XIII was 3 discs. And the game was practically on-rails. Versus XIII has a FULL open map world. Towns. Shops. Airships. Blood! It's a far bigger project than XIII was. No offense, but you obviously haven't been reading up on the Versus XIII news... No way Versus would be on 3 discs if a 360 version was released. Not a chance, unless the version would be an even worse port than the FFXIII 360 copy...

It may be linear, but even then you need to create different location settings and FFXIII has plenty of them.Just because a location is more open doesn't mean it contains more data than let's say 3 linear game sections, even though the freeroam location might have more square meters and overall more time consuming. Copying and pasting textures and models use far less megabytes than making 3 different kinds of them.

That's why Fallout 3 easily fits on 1 DVD. It recycles many things and makes sure that you spend a lot of time in them.
I've already seen that huge desert like location of Versus. No problem. The bigger it is the less storage will be used compared to a linear setting with different looking locations.

And yes as far as the gameplay time goes. The beginning of chapter 11 is pretty much half the game.

I agree that based on the size of the Game FFVersusXIII would be on at least 4 discs. also FFVersusXIII is made on a newer Version of Crystal Tools Engine so I would expect FFVersusXIII to look better.

FFVersusXIII is going to stay Exclusive IMO because when FFXIII went multiplatform the PS3 was not doing as well so Square Enix made what they deemed to be the best decision possible to put FFXIII on both systems. SONY did not seem to object to  mutch to the mutiplatform release so I beleave that this was the trade off FFXIII mutiplatform FFVersusXIII exclusive.

Plus, those 3 discs had very compressed CGI cutscenes.  If they hadn't been so compressed, like on the PS3 version, than it probably would have required 4-5 discs.  The way Nomura puts it, it seems he is only making this for the PS3 so that it will be an optimized experience for his vision.  If there is a port, it will almost 100% be guaranteed that it will be handled by another SE team, or maybe even outsourced to an outside team.  This will definitely result in a worse port than FF13 turned out to be.

If FF13 really showed me anything, it's that it going multi-plat only divided the audience it formally had, as opposed to bringing in new gamers.  I mean according to VGC, FF13 has only sold 4.3 mil units (with Wiki saying it has shipped 5.75 mil).  Just going by shipment numbers, that's just on par with the previous installment that was only on the PS2.  It's also 2.2 mil less than what FF10 sold (according to VGC) on just the PS2, and that launched on a smaller install base.  With the extra time and money it must have cost to create the 360 port, it doesn't seem like it payed off.

Versus XIII has tons of different locations. Cities, Deserts, Wastelands, Oceans... And the world itself is said to be huge. WHILE keeping full HD and supporting everything IN the world.

Fallout 3 fits easily on one DVD, mainly because it looks like ass...
